Or showing them above the player's name the same way ls or bazaar icons (adding a toggle for on-screen/target/off the same way we have for damage in Gameplay Options).
Above the name is probably not the best idea since it would have to cycle through several icons and that wouldn't really show you what you need to know. Above the target window would be ok, but I wish they would move the radar, clock and weather indicator over there so it's not blocked by the menu when your doing something.

On the right side of screen, opposite to where your own status icons are and changing depending on your target is more what I thought would work.
I use a Mac because I'm just better than you are.

HTTP Error 418 - I'm A Teapot - The resulting entity body MAY be short and stout.

At lower resolutions (TV, 800x600 etc.) having the status displayed above the name would be troublesome indeed, but at higher resolutions it might workout well. So although it seems the target window is the better choice, being able to toggle between those 2 options might be best (and the icon distribution has to be something that works regardless of screen resolution).

About the radar it would be nice if it moved to the right when you open the menu or start fighting.

I'm gonna try to make some pics about how it could look like, you should do the same about the ideas you have, that might explain things better if someone from SE looks at these threads.

          Re: Onscreen party status icons.

Here are some examples, on in 640x480 and one 1152x684 res, I did it fast using paint to give an idea of what I had in mind, hopefully someone else will do a proper job so I can take these down.

And this is the link for the high-res image

The radar seems to work better if it appears above the battle commands window and then disapear when you go to any of the menus, otherwise it would get in the way.

The status icons above names don't get in the way as much as I thought they would, although they are kinda annoying to look at so maybe a /stat command to toggle display on/off would work better.

That way you could see if all the party members have a status without having to target each independantly, and then just turn it off until next time you need to check status.

Also I think the status icons above names should only appear for party members (the same way it is about MP), alliance or people outside the party shouldn't show, although they should show above the target window if you target someone in your alliance.

          One last thing:

I placed status icons above the mob's name to show where they would go, but I don't think mob's status should show at all when you target them, same with people outside alliance/party.

            Re: Onscreen party status icons.

I am not sure this could be done, due to ps2 limitations.

Icons so far are listed in memory. And they are not global.
Like the tp is global tis why windower can work (Even on ps2).

SE would have to adjust the configuration for others to see status ailment, at least on the ps2.

But I would love this ^^. Heck why not ask em for Custom GUIs we can create.
