On Present and Future Collaborations with our Premium Site Members(21/07/2006)

Some time has passed since we have established premium sites in all FINAL FANTASY XI regions and formed a network among them. Now, we would like to roll out one of many great ideas we have come up with together to make the FINAL FANTASY XI community even better than before.

Until now, our development and community management teams have addressed issues culled from the premium site forums on a one-to-one basis across all the individual FINAL FANTASY XI service regions. From now on, we will be carrying this out across all premium sites in all regions, simultaneously.

The exact question-and-answer process will go as follows:

    1) Premium site managers put together a list of questions based on the content of their forums.
    2) Each regional community management team reviews the content, and then passes the results on to the headquarters in Japan.
    3) The development and community management teams in Japan select the best, most timely and relevant questions, and get them answered.
    4) The completed question-and-answer sets go back out to the regional community management teams, who then provide them to all premium site managers worldwide.

The FINAL FANTASY XI community is an absolutely indispensable part of what makes this game so much fun. Before, we had a site-specific individual approach where we took questions from premium sites and then released the answers back to those individual sites alone. The new approach we have put together will make it easier for individual sites to keep up with the community as a whole, and will provide premium sites with more opportunities for community interaction as well.

Of course, aside from our new premium site approach, we have many other items to discuss: plans for the future of FINAL FANTASY XI (for example, raising your own Chocobo), interviews, and several other plans on the drawing board that are so new the ink is still wet.

    Stay tuned for more!

Looks interesting as FFXIonline is a premium community site.

      Re: Any questions for SE?

      I have a question:

Q: Does SE know that by banning the 'cow' RMT accounts and removing such large amounts of gil from the economy only makes the RMT earning it more aggressive and unscrupulous?

Q: How will Chocobo Racing work? Will it be like an online Mario Kart with weapons and PEWPEWPEWLAZERBEAMS or just something automated?

You can edit some of that if you decide to actually use my question. ;[

          Question:

Why does SE bother with MPK prevention, job upgrades, and RMT bannings, since the playerbase is never happy, and will keep complaining anyway?

Q: Are Bio and Dia ever ever ever going to stack in any way at all no matter what?

I know the answer, I just wanna have an official URL I can macro into party chat from now on.

I think anyone with any common sense knows the actual answer. But i doubt SE will actually tell you that though. Their answer would be something like "It would be rash of us to try and predict what we will do in future updates." Then Sundi would enigmatically smile.

Of course this would only feed fuel to the fire. N00Bs will read that as "OMG SE said they was gonna make Dia and Bio stack".
Then one of them says " They already made it happen in the December update"
                "OMG did they!"
Then when you come to argue with them again they are all like "No it is true, Dia and Bio do stack"

Then just to spite you and because they were all enigmatic about it SE decides to really mess you up and make it so they do.

Then none of the N00bs will belive you any more, and the RDM will only cast one of them dispite your continued protestations that now they do stack and they should be useing both.

Q: Does SE approve of the creation of FFXI Fan Videos? Would SE consider putting out a document giving legal permission to create FFXI Fan Videos (with SE retaining all rights to their property)?

Regenshire, of course they approve of it. Why else do you think they had a best fan video contest during the 2006 Fan Festival?

on the other hand why would GM's say that running of fraps or similar is illegal?

Because they don't actually work for SE and only have the TOS to look off of.

but I'm curious, which GM said fraps/whatever is illegal?

GM specificly told me that each GM is left to thier own discretion when enfrocing the ToS.

Q: Why are Ninjutsu :Ni enfeebles more effective than Red Mage enfeebles? Red Mage is the master of Enfeebling Magic, yet as RDM75 my enfeebling magic is regularly overwritten by Ninjas casting Kurayami: Ni and Hojo: Ni. Are there any plans to increase the potency of Enfeebling Magic so that the job with the most Enfeebling spells, Red Mage, can do that job best, as they should? Perhaps a trait, "Enfeebling Magic Bonus", which would operate similar to Magic Attack Bonus?

Q: Why are White Mages more capable with their melee weapons than Red Mages? White Mage has a higher skill cap in Club than Red Mage has in Sword or Dagger, yet Red Mage has classically been the more martial of the two jobs.

Q: Are we ever going to see Dia 3, Diaga 2, or Bio 3 as player castable spells?
