  • Two - Reactivating PlayOnline ID Questions?

Are there any plans to include an option to reactivate a deleted PlayOnline ID as part of the "Character Reactivation Service?" And if not, are there plans to have another "Welcome Home to Vana'diel Campaign" this year?

I am unable to reactivate a character because my old PlayOnline ID was deleted, and am unable to reinstate my PlayOnline ID because it can only be done during a "Welcome Home to Vana'diel Campaign." I'm sure including this feature in the "Character Reactivation Service" would be appreciated by many returning players, who have been gone from Vana'diel too long, and would love to meet up with our old characters and adventure once again.

Thank you for taking the time to consider this question!

Return Campaign is permanently cancelled. The Character Recovery Service is meant to replace it, and never ends. POL Id's aren't supposed to be deleted, since they don't have a monthly fee. Deleting one generally means you are permanently quitting with no option to come back without restarting.

Thank you for the insight bungifan.

Unfortunately POL accounts are deleted by SquareEnix do-to lack of use. (I didn't play FFXI or log into my POL account for about 4 years) After talking with two different customer service reps it was made clear to me that my deleted POL account can only be reactivated during a Welcome Home to Vana'diel Campaign and that a POL reactivation is not part of the Character Reactivation Service.

The reason I posed this question to SquareEnix was to raise an issue I see with the current Character Reactivation Service. It is evident that it is possible to reactivate a deleted POL account do to the fact that it was done during the Welcome Home to Vana'diel Campaigns. But, now that they have replaced those campaigns with the Character Reactivation Service the only way returning player in my situation will be able to get their old characters back is if they implement the POL account reactivation into the Character Reactivation Service.

On a side note, I have created a new Character and I’m truly enjoying exploring Vana’diel again. But, it does kind of suck when I think about how far my previous Character was. ;)
