  • May I please have the Japanese IME for PS2 ?

I am aware of the IME licence issue - but I would like to know if SE would ever consider selling the IME as an add-on ? Or even leasing it as a premium content ID feature (like, say, custom character name e-mail addresses) ?

The main reason I ask, is that although I am in the US, there are many Japanese players online when I can find time to play, and I would like the option at least to attempt to learn the language so I can party with them more often. Autotranslate just doesn't cut it, and their English is as bad as my Japanese... but if I at least had the option, then I could try to meet them halfway, and have a much easier time finding a party. I hear they are not very receptive to romajii - and honestly, that is not a good way to learn the language anyway...

SO how about it ? If it is not possible to bundle the IME for free, will you sell it separately or at least lease/rent it ?

I'd love that option. I doubt it will happen though, so don't hold your breath.

I'd like this for the 360 because spending a billion dollars for a Japanese 360 and Japanese FFXI is a little out of my reach

if you want to learn a language, using an internet game is a pretty crappy way of doing it without any prior instruction.

I don't see what the whole fuss about an IME license is though, there has to be a free software IME out there that SE could adapt to their purposes.
