  • Have you considered making Linkshell ownership transferrable?

Currently, there is no way for Linkshell ownership to be transfered to another player. I have seen Linkshells in the past die simply because the Linkshell owner decided to quite playing the game. There are ways to construct a new Linkshell and even preserve the old Linkshell's name. However, such a transfer is not the easiest of tasks to organize (more than likely, newer members to the Linkshell or members who are not on as often get forgotten in the transfer).

If a Linkshell owner had the option to transfer ownership to a player of his/her choosing, this would alleviate that problem. Linkshells often take on a life of their own beyond the one player who purchased the Linkshell to start with. I think it would be of benefit to the player community if they had the option to preserve those social connections when a Linkshell owner leaves the game without those still playing having to jump through hoops.

Re: Have you considered making Linkshell ownership transferrable?

Yes, YES, YES! Please, this would be incredibly awesome. My beloved shell was broken because of the jerk leader who wanted to move on to "bigger and better" things, and he ditched a bunch of his "friends," most of who worked hard to recruit for it and to organize events. If he could have given the LS to me or another of the sackholders it would have saved a lot of people a lot of grief.

      that would help a lot.

until then, people should keep friends lists or record of people's names that are good in the LS, so in case the leader jumps ship and the shell implodes, members can reestablish their links quickly. :)

Re: Have you considered making Linkshell ownership transferrable?

I agree, I'm actually facing an issue right now where my current ls Shell holder is my old character and I want to give the shell to my new character and re-make my old character... but sadly if I did so I wouldn't be able to continue my current linkshell, I'd have to re-make it.

Please, either consider this, or consider expanding the abilities of the pearl sacks. If pearl sacks could make other members pearl sacks it might help quite a bit as well.

I vote yes on this question. Our LS on Asura pretty much died because the shell-holder left...

Re: Have you considered making Linkshell ownership transferrable?

This is really just fundamentally a smart change to make. A linkshell represents a community, and communities do not generally revolve around a single person over their lifetime. While there are certainly exceptions to this, and times when singular ownership of such a resource as a communications network is warranted by the needs it serves, I think elevating this to a norm, let alone an absolute, is misguided. It may be that communities like this can tend to form around a charismatic personality or a tight-knit group, but when the community has grown beyond the forces of its inception, I think that needs to be recognized and accommodated.

Re: Have you considered making Linkshell ownership transferrable?

I believe this question was actually asked to SE before, but I still think it's a good idea. As someone who's been through two major LS reforms due to leaders leaving as well as someone with many mules and none of them with a sack despite being the Shell Leader on my main, the LS system does need some sort of reforms.
