    Will we ever going to see Futuristic setting in next or future expansion?

    Will we ever going to see more Futuristic setting in next or future expansion?

    Just curious since FF series seem bending toward more and more futuristic as we speak. I would love to see FFXI online go into a world of robotic and space (maybe).

    I would love to see a job where player can ride robots for combats or we replace the popular land-chicken to hover-robot-chicken XD

    I always perfered the more Medevil themes of FFXI, though we technically already do have robots and mechanical monsters (an I mean more then Pups and Cardians).

    If anything I'd prefer it to not get too far past FFVI style technology.

        Just because the FF series is moving towards more techno/magic-oriented worlds, doesn't mean that technology much above and beyond what we already have (airships, elevators) has much place in Vanadiel.

        I'm not suggesting that it can't or even won't happen, but just that it seems kind of unlikely.

          That's why I think a FFVI style of "Techno/Magic" would work well. It was a nice mix of machine and magics, not super high tech future cities like in VIII, but not all Swords and Steel like older titles.

          Having said that, XII was a definate step back in terms of 'futuristic' while still being high techy.

              I wouldn't mind if it was a revived ancient technology, but nothing too far out of what's already around. Just as long as it doesn't end up like FFXIII. I swear, that game looks like it's TRYING to be like Phantasy Star.

                  Zilart type technology based on harnessing magic with machines, maybe...

                  Since S-E seems to be happy with the broken two-handed weapon users, maybe we'd get a broken Machinest job controlling giant mechas--er, Zilart tech enhanced Golems, Dolls, and Globes smacking down HNMs like they are VT (high defense) exp critters.

                    Final Fantasy 1 had a real robot, but ya futuristic wouldn't fit for this world. only in stuff like FFVII, FFVIII and FFXIII.

                    Vana'diel is fine as it is with heavy fantasy.
