  • Could Outpost/Allegiance Restrictions be lifted?

    With Wings of the Goddess forthcoming, the attention of players will be redirected to the mainlands and stories relevant to The Great War era. Seeing as the Rank Missions of each nation will likely have ties to these future expansion stories, I find myself wanting to experience them and as a well-traveled player I have very few expansion missions to complete outside of Assault, so I've started to look to other nations for missions.

    The problem? I lose all my Outpost Warps if I change allegiance.

    This is a hard price to pay because I like Windurst and when I complete the Missions from other nations, I'd like to return to Windurst. Not only that, it makes completing the other nations' Missions a lengthier effort because I have to re-obtain OP Warps for those nations.

    Also, Windurst has some difficulty in Conquesting regions like Zulkhiem due to distance, it could be several months before Windurst on Titan ever controls that region again, so I'd like to keep that OP if at all possible. Keeping that outpost warp makes getting to the Valkurm Dunes much easier if I level a new job.

    Seeing as Rank Missions could be very relevant to WotG, would the FFXI Team consider such changes?

    I don't think the FFXI can consider anything.

    Really though, this should have never, ever have been part of changing your nation in the first place. SE should retroactively give people outpost warps they lost, if they have that data anywhere

      Yeah, there's no way around it, the same way you get Conquest points back when you return to your nation the outposts you've gotten should be restored as well.

      No question about it.

        Before I switched nations, I had Sarutabaruta, Gustaberg, and Ronfuare outpost warps - not areas that swap control every tally. Now that I'm Windurstian, I've lost the two, and Zulkheim is virtually out of reach as well.

        It doesn't make sense to me that the warps are taken in the first place; the NPCs that do the warping are always the same regardless of which nation controls the area.
        Ho-hum.

          Because outposts are tied to conquest it wouldn't make sense if you were able to access outposts for which you did supply runs while you were another nation's citizen.

            Sure, I can agree that OPs shouldn't carry over when you changed nations (though it would make nation missions easier as stated in the OP), but when you return to your original nation why not gain your OPs back, just as you gain back CP? It's the reason I've never switched, I too have Ronfaure Gustaberg and Sarutabaruta and I don't think changing nations can ever be as compelling as having those OPs.

              Edit:
              Never mind; I think I'm wrong...

              Bamboo shadows sweep the stars,
              yet not a mote of dust is stirred;
              Moonlight pierces the depths of the pond,
              leaving no trace in the water.

                  It's not so much the carrying over, but yeah, when I switch back after I (eventually) do Bastok and Windy, I don't want to have to do all that shit again. Laziness aside, it just doesn't seem right.

                    I can't think of anything to add other than to say {Yes, please.}
