  • Will more NMs be adjusted like Sozu Rogberry?

In the March update a great change was made to some NMs, chiefly Sozu Rogberry.

Now it is a force-spawn NM, with a 100% drop rate making the Thief Knife a much more accessible item for any dedicated thieves.

Are there any plans to make more NMs function this way? In particular, Mysitcmaker Profblix. This is an extremely frustrating NM to camp, as at any given time there's usually no less than 3 people, often RDMs, camping it.

As it stands the NM is on a 2 - 2.5 hour respawn (often 2:15:00) but has a dismal drop rate on the Moldavite Earring, one of the best and highly sought after earrings for certain mage classes.

Despite the fact that it's rare/ex, it's still very heavily camped, even by RMT. Changing it to be spawned by a drop from say the local goblins in the area (the pop item itself being extremely rare) and a guaranteed 100% drop on the earring would be wonderful.

Generally speaking, I think most NMs would be a lot more fun and rewarding using this system. I hardly believe that waiting hours upon hours just for a shot at an item is anyone's idea of a good time, and this is a game after all.

So, are there any chances this NM (and others) will see the same change?

I have to agree with you. I find it extremely boring and tedious waiting for NMs to spawn only to have it stolen away by someone who's faster at mashing that provoke macro than you. At least with the forced spawn NMs you don't need to worry about revolving your schedule around a single spawn for a low drop rate item. This would also drive down the prices on the items that these creatures drop, providing they don't get switched to Ra/Ex.

A force pop would be a-lot better than the current system. Luckley, at lvl 42 I'm only upto the davoi easier NM's(so I haven't had the joy of dealing with the RMT pop steals), but I can tell you waiting 2+1/2 hrs for a warrior's ax(that I can't equipt) is not my idea of what a game is supposed to be. I realize if the NM's wern't a little annoying, we would have a major rmt issue on our hands, but couldn't we make it a little more pleasant to at least get them to pop. 1 soultion to this problem could possibly be to only have a certain item drop only if you can equipt it(or at least 1 member of the party). At least this would force RMT to at least lvl up somewhat, plus this would allow for a lower re-spawn time(as less rmt's would camp them if they couldn't get a drop). You would still be able to buy and sell the item, you just wouldn's be able to farm it.

RMT have no problem levelling up, all the accounts that got banned last round on Titan are already back in sky at 75. New LS name, new Taru BLM army, new Galka WARs voke pulling but the same annoying bastards as before.

I'll agree that there are a few more NMs that should be able to be force-popped via trigger. Definately the some of the remaining ones in sky that RMT still swarm. They're not as successful at dominating the others (hell I watched them wipe to olla repeatedly last night), but it would still help that situation a bit to make a few more of the NMs force-pop.

But for more of the general NMs, I wouldn't want to see too many more of them made force pop since we're running out of cash NMs for players to make money off of. I'd agree something like mysticmaker would be a good NM to make force-pop, that one is a real pain. Dune Widow I don't think it would be needed, its pretty easy to camp and claim. Charybis is another hotly-contested NM, but since the Joyeuse is 100% droprate, I wouldn't see the point to making it force-pop.

How does one go about choosing which NMs to make force pop, though? The recent NMs changed (with the exception of Ulli) were NMs that held luxury items. I don't how much epeeing people did about Thief Knife or Eurytos' Bow - they're luxury items.

I'm glad I now have the luxury of having a Vali's Bow, because had it not changed, upcoming RNGs would never have a fair shot at Eastern Shadow - same goes for MNKs with Western Shadow. Making thier drops R/E took away an RMT cash cow. Now the only concern is camping against people with the same needs and given the spawn times those NMs have, no legit player is going to camp them a full 27 hours. Gotta sleep sometime.

I think SE should also just keep moving things to BCNMs, that's been another good way to combat the issue. It makes people feel like they really earned that PCC or whatever when they do a big fight for it.

I do think that, for Rare/Ex items, there's little reason to make it so tedious to obtain. I spent weeks trying to get Othinus' Bow from Wyvernpoacher Drachlox, who has a long spawn time and a fairly crappy drop rate. Now, for a Rare/Ex drop that is pretty much required for any high level ranger, I don't see any reason for it to be so difficult to get other than to force a player to spend more time online.

I understand fighting a hard NM, or camping an NM for a few hours until it pops, but having to do all that multiple times for a Rare/Ex drop doesn't make sense to me. Non-Ex drops are another story, depending on the NM or drop.

Re: Will more NMs be adjusted like Sozu Rogberry?

I totally. The majority of rare/ex items shouldn't be so hard to obtain just because of the spawn/drop rate. I brought up the V-Bow because eastern shadow pops anywhere from 21-29 hours after it's last death.

That's ludicrous, and the drop rate on that bow isn't exactly stellar. For sellable drops it's a bit more complicated but items like Moldavite Earring that are really important to certain jobs (and an absolute pain in the ass to obtain) they could ease it up.

Even if the drop rate isn't made 100%, at least being able to force-spawn it would be nice (though the drop rate to 100 would be nice too, given how many people are after this thing 24/7)
