Its a convenience for them to get the money, when they /sh to do ports in Lower Jeuno or Whitegate. Its an inconvenience if you spam tells for it while they're lfp or /anon and they said nothing to teleport you.

Personally I never understood doing the /shouts repeatedly when telitaxing. If I need a teleport so I don't have to switch to whm I /shout [teleport---] [can I have it] 2 or 3 k depending on if I'm close to broke at the time. I'm not going to individually /tell a specific whm when shouting gets quicker results. (whm advertising may already be teleporting exc.)

I think someone sitting in Jeuno or whitegate willing to devote their time to teleporting instead of farming/crafting/bcnm runs has ever right to expect to be compensated for their time as they would most likely be doing one of these other activities to make gil instead.

Yea, though I rarely tele anyone anymore just because I'm busy either farming on thf for demon horns or making a quick 10k+~ from killing Manipulator/picking coffers in Temple of Ugh. Though a major peeve is when I'm not /anon in a starter city and i get tells for teles >_>;;

I know exactly where you're coming from here. It always annoys me when I see the same person shouting every few minutes advertising their teleport service. It's easier for the one in need of a tele to just shout for said tele. Besides, I need something to keep my slightly entertained while I sit around for so long making money.

It's a service they are providing when they /sh to do ports. I expect to pay for services, same as I would at any restaurant, gas station, car rental, or bus stop. Are you seriously trying to convince me that you don't expect to pay for services?

I was however, referring to people more along the lines of Theyaden, who make a shout with a price (based on what they can afford and how much of a hurry they're in) who recognize that getting a port is a convenience and that no whitemage is obligated to help them even for gil, much less for free.

On the line of shouting that I have the service available, I will sometimes advertise that I am leaving in "X" minutes and anyone who needs a free port is welcome to come along. This is generally when I'm teleporting myself somewhere for convenience, though, not just sitting around and waiting for shouts in Whitegate.
