  • Auction House Tax: Will it be Adjusted?

In the past, the Auction House tax was introduced(increased?) in response to inflation brought on by rampant RMT. In recent updates, however, the result's of S-E's introduced "Task Force" have been noticeable. Amid a great deal of deflation, prices for items(from common to rare) have been lower now than in the past two years. The numbers are looking the way they did when I first started this game.
The Auction house transaction fees, however, have not.
My question is: Will the Auction House transaction fees ever change to reflect the current state of the economy?

You should edit the title so it's in the form of a question. Think Jeapordy.

The AH tax at (non-ToAU) Jeuno AH counters was distinctly lowered last year.

IIRC, the tax is now based more on your selling price than a flat fee. I would think it would adjust with the economy.

          from Wiki:
Jeuno / Nashmau / Tavnazia Auction Houses
Single item fee = 1% of the seller's asking price +50 gil.
Stacked item fee = 0.5% of the seller's asking price +100 gil.

          Al Zahbi Auction House
Single item fee = 1% of the seller's asking price +100 gil.
Stacked item fee = 0.5% of the seller's asking price +400 gil.

          Aht Urhgan Whitegate Auction House
Single item fee = 2% of the seller's asking price +100 gil.
Stacked item fee = 1% of the seller's asking price +400 gil.

          Other Auction Houses
Single item fee = 1% of the seller's asking price +1 gil.
Stacked item fee = 0.5% of the seller's asking price +4 gil.

Re: Auction House Tax: Will it be Adjusted?

Since part of the AH fee is a percentage of the asking price, it already does scale up or down with the state of the economy.

Long time ago, the fee used to be based on the NPC buyback price for the item. But that was changed to the current way of calculating AH fees quite a while ago.
