I stopped reading the Official Forums for a few reasons. First: too much stupid, second: no account so I can't respond to the stupid, third: BG's thread about the OF (which was part of the reason I was still reading the OF in the first place) became a "let's bait Starcade and see if he snaps" fest and I thought it was stupid and wrong because the guy obviously needs mental help, not trolls.

Dyna-Tav demons are freakin hard. That said, gave another couple shots at farming them this morning. First attempt was a disaster. Turns out getting a proc on Hydra Corps does not seal their 2-hour, and I didn't give the Hydra Ranger enough credit to pull him out where I could reraise safely. Second run went more smoothly. There was much shouting of fuck, a few deaths, a couple lessons brutally learned, and I hate Condemnation, but at least I was able to recover and finish out my time. Walked out with a mere 46 currency, 1 each of thoughts and hopes, 5 relic pieces that are useless to me, and a -1 I might use in the future. Didn't get the blu relic hat I was hoping for, but the salable stuff works out to ~250k, and it was nice to do something challenging for once.

Oh, and I finished the trial on my +2 body in the process. /flutteryay

Reminds me when I was helping Jarre get his Shadowlord clear.

Funnily enough it took two attempts only because I went WHM/NIN and completely forgot that he has the alternating Physical and Magical immunity phases (it had been about 5 years since I had last done the fight so my memory was VERY hazy), so I ran out of MP early in the fight and had to wait for the fight to time out while Jarre's low level PLD lay in a bloody pulp on the floor.

I remember when I first got the clear, I spent most of it dead or being raised. I do not miss it at all.

Again, my interest in this game wanes. At the very least because the sort of investment it requires is again making me miss out on other games I would potentially be interested in.

Only sword have been given as examples. No word yet on what the proposed method of obtaining these upgrades will be.

Ok, so building Excalibur is still a passable (if less than optimal) Sword option.

That matters far less than the ludicrous . . . "creep" wouldn't be remotely appropriate, so let's go with "power surge" . . . that prompted this change in the first place.

I mean, seriously. Best Sword at 97 (there are no Swords at 98):

Apaisante +1 DMG:60 Delay:222 MND+9 "Cure" spellcasting time -13%

Best Sword at 99:

Buramenk'ah DMG:130 Delay:240 STR+13 Accuracy+25 Attack+25 "Double Attack"+3%

What the crap is this crap.

It actually gives me far less confidence in the sustainability of this game if all that SE is doing about it is making RME builders' times feel slightly less wasted.

As opposed to, say, making this new crap stop breaking the game in two.

Oh, but this is SE we're talking about. We absolutely cannot stand with nerfing anything whatsoever*! That might make someone upset! Just make everything else stronger and stronger, and then arms race the new content to match . . .

*--Twilight Scythe excluded, because it's ugly.

Then I saw that Kraken Club and 10,000 pieces were still in Rank 1.
