I'm glad I quit, Seekers holds no real interest to me unless they're absolutely amazing enough to make me put my disc back into my 360 and pay the monthly fee. I got a feeling the two new classes won't be worth it, but I could be wrong. Rune Fencer just kinda sounds like a more flashy version of a Red Mage and Geo, well I learned my lesson as to not touch mage classes. They take way too long to skill up. Samurai for life.


@Mal You wanted a hard copy of the Seekers release and not Digitial? Also doesn't this kind of fuck over people who are on the console, unless they have the pre-order bonus as a code like they did for the PC version.

You know what's sad?

For kicks I went to check it out again, and the damn music box thing is STILL THERE but the price is back to normal. This is what you get for outsourcing your damn website SE.

And yes I wanted a retail copy. I still have my boxes for FFXI~WotG, all PC and the 360 versions too that my friend gave me after he quit. I've been wanting to log in just snag all the achievements I've earned but had no real reason to re-sub. Seekers would have done it for me but nah, SE fucked me over on multiple fronts.


Here's my reply to them if anyone wants to see it (which apparently got ninja-removed from my FB wall... wow. What the fuck?)

So you want me to deal with a 3rd party and can't answer yourselves why your own product, on YOUR SITE, was mislabeled/wasn't working properly?

And now I see you've in fact removed the discount, putting it back up to $39.99. Well, you can quite honestly shove it up your collective asses then. I was subscriber to FFXI for a good 8+ years, enjoyed the game thoroughly but decided to move on to FFXIV instead and am enjoying the beta and looking forward to release of A Realm Reborn. In the interim, I thought it might be worth checking out this new expansion, however if this is the kind of shady business practices and piss poor customer service that you're going to subject myself and others too, you can keep it.

You should count your lucky stars you have dedicated individuals like Naoshi Yoshida, working hard to put out quality products. I've half a mind to boycott you like some of my friends have. I'd heard the horror stories about your atrocious customer service, abusive GMs in FFXI etc but never actually experienced it for myself until now. I'm not dealing with some shady 3rd party, giving them all kinds of information for what should have been a simple explanation - all I wanted was to take you up on your offer and perhaps get back into one of my favorite games ever while eagerly awaiting the release of A Realm Reborn as I still have some leftover crysta in my passbook I wanted to use up.

But no. I refuse to buy this new expansion now on principal. This is exactly the kind of nonsense Electronic Arts pulled last week with the new Sim City. I expected better from you guys, and am grateful that I won't have to put up with any future shenanigans of this nature due to my Legacy Member status for FFXIV.

Thanks for crapping on my birthday by the way.

And yes, yesterday was in fact my B-day. That's some real great customer appreciation right there SE.


EDIT: Oh and it gets better! They said they fixed the problem, but they didn't - the music box thing is still there as I said, but they've been called out on the promo price issue, as well as people are now reporting their bonus codes for the extra items are already expired when they enter them. Brave Square, 1st expansion in 3 years and you're fucking it all up horribly a week before launch, because FFXIV 1.0 wasn't enough of an embarrassment.

Lol! Well done Malcite oh and happy belated birthday! Also how old if I may ask? Clearly over 20. Also did you get an actual response from them or was it just a bot that writes up an auto-response? It seems all the trouble you're going through isn't worth it for XI. I suggest going back to XIV and enjoying yourself, I still have to wait for the beta for PS3 to come out. PC controls aren't my thing.

Terrible excuse. FFXI and FFXIV both support 3rd party and 360 Controllers with full customization.

Not to mention $10 PS2 to USB converters have been around for over a decade, and Wiimote + Classic Controller can connect to PCs through Bluetooth.

Why do that when I can just play on a 60 flatscreen and not have to use silly modifications to render to the draw distance like I had to do when I used the PC version? Prefer console over PC. Will always be that way, keep to your elite PC master gaming race thing. Also why bother wasting time configuring a controller when it comes already done on console? No thanks.

@Ygg I'm not a PC Elitist so I don't care either way, I'm not pouring loads of money into a gaming rig. Just not happening. PC Elitism is the reason why I don't bother with it. Because there is always some guy that's going to point out a flaw, "You should've used x Graphics card or y ram." Stuff like this is what keeps me away from PC gaming. Yeah you have bragging rights, but so what? PC gaming for me has come to a rather bad stand still in the last year, due to all the cut and paste MMOs out there that use the same skill tree system, same grind methods and the same pay to win scheme. Quite tired of it. So feel free to laugh, ridicule me for not being one of the "cool kids" and getting a souped up PC or what have you. I'm a casual person, so I stick to my console. I don't need to give up an arm a leg and my first born child to run a PC which in a few years will need parts replaced and will cost my more $$$ in one year than a console ever would.

If you can't afford it, that's one thing. Your original point was that PC controls aren't your thing. To avoid ridicule and comparison in the future, you might want to re-think the way you word things. Nobody here is going to make fun of anyone else for their inability to afford something. What they will do, however... is argue to the death the pros and cons of various platforms... affordable or not.

EDIT: And wow, still utterly no response from SE with regards to this. They haven't said ANYTHING to EU players, and have simply stated that the problem has been "resolved" for NA players (by which they mean American, not Canadian or Mexican as again, that stupid music box IS STILL THERE)


You know, and I hate to say this but... as much as I'm loving ARR, and want it to come out and do well, part of me just wants to see SE tank. I'm talking near or even full-on bankruptcy here to force them to get their shit together. They are so lucky they snatched up Eidos...
