    [dev1139] Job Ability Adjustments: Perfect Defense / Tabula Rasa


    [dev1139] Job Ability Adjustments: Perfect Defense / Tabula Rasa

    The job abilities below have been adjusted in the following ways:
    • Summoner
      • Alexander's Perfect Defense
        • Effect duration will be reduced from ninety seconds to thirty seconds plus an additional second for every twenty points of one's summoning magic skill. For example, with a summoning magic skill value of 600, the ability's effect duration would be a maximum of sixty seconds (the base thirty seconds plus thirty more seconds for one's skill value).

    • Scholar
      • Embrava (castable only while Tabula Rasa is in effect)
        • Effect duration will be reduced from five minutes to ninety seconds.
        • Haste potency will increase by 1% for every twenty points of one's enhancing magic skill instead of for every fifteen points. Therefore, an enhancing magic skill value of 500 will increase the potency of haste by a maximum of 25%
        • Embrava will grant the effect of Refresh instead of Regain. The value of the effect, however, will remain the same.



    Modifications will be made to the following battle systems to accommodate the above job ability adjustments.
    • Nyzul Isle Uncharted Area Survey
      • The number of astraria needed to exchange for equipment has been lowered from twenty-five to five.
        *The number of astraria already in one's possession will be divided by five, with the remainder disregarded.

      0~4 → 0
      5~9 → 1
      10~14 → 2
      15~19 → 3
      20~24 → 4
      25 → 5
    • Legion
      • Enemies' HP will be reduced by ten percent.

    • Einherjar
      • The enemy Odin that appears in Odin's Chamber II will have its HP reduced by ten to fifteen percent.

    The more important news is the Chocobo Blinkers stealth nerf. Thanks to that Dynamis is now going to be full of nothing but RMTs farming for Dynamis currency so guess what is going to get nerfed next?.

    I can also see it utterly destroying Voidwatch as well.

      It's not just RMTs, everyone will feel the push to do Dynamis as it was probably the second best source of income. Thing is, the zones won't accommodate such a large influx of players so it will kind of sort itself out. More importantly though, Dynamis doesn't really introduce new gil into the economy so I wouldn't expect it to get nerfed.

      Voidwatch is pretty much finished though. Cruor for blinkers was pretty much the only reason I joined most Voidwatch shouts since all the other rewards were horribly unreliable and/or trash.

        Fishing never introduced new gil into the economy but I lost count of the number of nerfs that it ate.

          Fishing did introduce gil to the economy.

          Bot Breams and Sole -> sell to NPC for ~600 gil each all day every day -> more gil in the economy. Haks NPC for 10k so it's probably even worse now, even if the cost of lures is slightly offsetting that.

            Not 100% true. There were plenty of bots that fished in other areas and would easily be able to flood the AH with fish the second someone else tries to sell some.

              I have to side with Cid on this one. Suggesting that fishing doesn't introduce gil to the economy is just wrong. There's no disputing that it does. If it didn't, you wouldn't see 300 fishing bots at work all day every day. Do you think they're bot fishing for fun?

                That's still adding gil to the economy, and if you watched the fish market you'd constantly see it trending towards NPC pricing, at which point people would go back to skipping the AH altogether. Plenty of folks would just set up shop in Nashmau or Talaca Cove and NPC without even bothering with the AH. Throw in some legitimate fishermen and the AH market would just constantly bottom out to the point where it made more sense to just NPC directly all the time if you were botting.

                  The only fish that sell for profit are the legendary ones necessary for Ebisu as well as Bass... for obvious reasons. Everything else gravitates towards the NPC price.

                  The Gugrusaurus I was given by a guy in a trade sell for 25-30k while the NPC price is only ~7k. If you got your skill up and were able to fish those things up consistently... congratulations, you have a nearly constant flow of money for almost no cost.

                    You people speak as if 10k is a large number.

                    I'm assuming it is now. It wasn't when I played.

                    That was in the days of Rabao fishing. I made a fortune on that that lasted me literally for the rest of my time playing; and that was with legitimate gameplay.

                    There's a reason the shit got nerfed.

                      3-5million is nothing now. I can make that in 2 days. The economy went a little crazy post Abyssea and means of making money were limitless. We're starting to head back to the old days of inflation and the recent nerf on blinker conversions is undoubtedly SE's way of trying to stop it.

                      In addition, there are rumors circulating about the potential to make Dynamis Currency exclusive. If that were to happen... heh... we'd have a lot of angry BSTs.

                          There are screenshots of people with capped gil floating around. Blinkers were insane money if you actually worked to fully exploit them.

                              You could buy Chocobo Blinkers for Cruor earned from Abyssea and Voidwatch. They NPC'd for a lot of money each and stacked up to 12. You could basically load up a maxed out Gobbiebag and make about 500k per run.
