What's your favorite job/sub and why? Not necesarilly the most useful job, but the one you just enjoy being?

RDM/PLD's fun as all get-out for me, but I'll probably be needing to level /DNC some time eventually if I want to be taken even remotely seriously.

I love being a Bst/Whm from a nostalgia point of view,

I do have fun on Dnc/Sam.

I don't play anymore, but DRG/WHM was my go-to job for everything. I loved DRG, and with /WHM, I was able to survive any trouble that came my way. Plus added benefit of Teleports spells for when I got lost or bored during my little exploration adventures.

Because A) RDM is awesome and B) there are many subs you can use depending on the situation and your playstyle.

Well, at least while soloing.

In terms of being busy and challenged, COR with more or less any subjob is probably the most interesting and active job. For solo, DRG/BLU is pretty awesome, as is classic BST/WHM.

The nicest thing about FFXI? You don't have to choose, because you can change as your mood takes you.

RNG/WAR - I am a death cannon
COR/DNC - Buff, buff, debuff, debuff, bang, bang, bang. Up, right, left, down, chu, chu, chu.
SCH/RDM - I can't hear you over the sound of the damage you're not doing to my party.

As far as having the most fun, I'd say I really enjoyed SAM/RNG back in the day. Absolutely loved being able to just fire off melee & ranged weaponskills depending on the situation and skillchain like a madman (SAM/DRG too abusing wyvern earring and jumps)


Other than that, NIN/BLM spamming Ninjutsu & Shuriken.

WHM/SCH - I'm sorry I can't hear you over the sound of 350 Accession Stoneskins and 350 Cureskins
THF/NIN - I'm sorry but...Wait have you even hit me yet?
THF/WAR - THF sucks as a DD outside Abyssea but it's still fun
SMN/RDM - Free avatars!
COR/RNG - Outdated but come on who doesn't love barrage?
WHM/NIN - For when you absolutely have to humiliate that one clueless 2 hander DD that keeps bragging about 180 crits and 2k weaponskills
NIN/DNC or THF/DNC - For when you're like me and you like to "Poke it and see what happens"

If it’s not obvious enough…Bst/???. Lots of cool/strong jug pets that are 10x my size.

Refresh, elemental staves and - Avatar Perpetuation Cost stacking. Yyg will be able to go into more detail though since he knows the exact setups you need for it.

I loved every single job that I had leveled. Especially when I hadn't geared up a particular job for a long time, just putting on the gear and running through town would bring back a ton of memories and remind me why I leveled the job in the first place. So much fun!
