Okay! So I am sick of being stuck on Sylph. My friend is talking about a Gold World Pass transfer for me. How does it work? I'm on this Sylph with my main. He sent me the code, what do I do with it? I'm confused.

A new character must have a valid Content ID and no other characters currently listed on their account for a Gold World Pass to function. The Gold World Pass will still work if previous characters were deleted, however, it will not work if the characters still exist on inactive Content IDs. Otherwise, an error that the Gold World Pass is invalid will occur. This error doesn't actually invalidate the Gold World Pass and it may still be used if the remaining characters are deleted from that user's account or by a another user's new character who does meet the Eligibility Requirements.

Copied and pasted from wiki. Other than a server transfer from the SE account management site, there is no way to move a current character.

You would rather I summarize the wiki? OK.

You input the code at the character creation page. You use the code when it asks at the character creation page. The Gold World Pass works by allowing you to choose your server (you didn't used to be allowed to choose), same as a World Pass, but it seems to have a couple of rewards depending on your length of stay. However, you must delete all your other characters. Not just inactive, deleted. Or, you have to have a completely new account. A Gold World Pass (or any world pass, for that matter) will not help you get your current character off of Sylph.

Also, on a different note, I know it is hard to convey tone in type (whether it be text message, e-mail, or message board) so I try not to read into anyone's tone at all and just take things at face value. With that said, you certainly can come off as a spoiled brat most of the time. You didn't get the answer you wanted from my first response and decided to jump to conclusions in your second post. No, your friend does not have a bum code. The code works fine, just not for what you want it for. If C&P doesn't help you, I told you where to find the information for yourself. Feel free to read it.
