Actually, they where doing everything peacefully, and where NOT doing anything to disturb the police. They had no right to be peppersprayed. Its just the government ignoring the problems, and trying to distract us with their problems.

BS, pure and simple. If a person was pepper sprayed, there was a reason. If you are told to do something by an Officer, and you don't do it or you resist, then they have the right to subdue you and arrest you.

Not if what the officer has told you to do is not justified.

Because the police are totally infallible enforcers of the law, rather than people with similar ways of thinking to genuine criminals. "Power tripping?" Never heard of it!

I love how at 1:12 the camera conveniently moves before the altercation starts. BTW at 1:25 that is resisting, that is why he was arrested. Everything after 1:30 was more or less disturbance of the piece.

He was resisting because the police had no reason to arrest them, and there was police brutality as well.

"I'm arresting you because you're resisting me arresting you!"

????? Couldn't you just arrest anyone with that logic?

Full context to the situation surrounding the video.

Cops overracted, but these people were also there to push their buttons knowing the potential result.

Is it a stupid law? Yes, but it covers a rather limited area. There are quite a great deal of stupid laws out there that make no sense, but apparently it takes less time to enforce them than to sift through all stupid laws to repeal them. if you know dancing at the Jefferson Memorial gets you arrested, common sense dictates you do not reenact scenes from Footloose or Thriller there.

If you object to a law, sure, push for it to be repealed, but I'd advise against encouraging people to arrest you for breaking that law.

Pretty sure even they were young once, and I'd imagine it was during their earlier education that they gained the knowledge and ideas that grew into the ideal of a democratic government.

Wow, that is an incredibly... conditioned, response. There are abused spouses that will justify the abuse as inevitable and deserved, having not been properly subservient.

"It is the authority, therefore anything it does is right, any resistance on your part is against the authority, and therefore wrong."
                        Is that how it goes?

And this is the problem with all the laws that have passed, specially in the last decade.

They are slowly but surely taking away a person's capability to defend themselves from abusive authorities. All because of fear of a 1 in 30 million chance of dying to a terrorist attack, or something crazy like that.

Good riddance. Websites like MU are only there for all the people who are ruining the PC. They get their hands on something and their first thought is to share it, killing any desire the publisher might have had for future releases. Or they write and sell cheats for games, again killing any desire the publisher might have had for expansions and iterations. This is why games are constantly being pushed to consoles or released with insane DRM, because assholes out there are only interested in making money or saving money at the expense of others. That greed is ruining it for everybody else.

... Dak... You do realise how much money these companies make, right? It's.actually greed which is what pushed this bill the most. So what if a multi billionaire lost a few million, they are still billionaires...

As for the cheats and hacks... Those are for fun, nothing else. I don't see why you are mad about that.

I remember playing golden eye with the cheats... Fun times... Fun times...

                                Re: R.I.P. - Megaupload (SOPA/PIPA are unrelated)

It ain't that simple, and killing MegaUpload wont change a thing, it wont stop file sharing. Just like SOPA/PIPA wouldn't stop piracy either.

How about going after companies like CBS instead? They are the ones still distributing DRM removal software among others out in the open. Not to mention MU users don't profit from it, but CBS/Viacom does/did.

I'm of the same opinion as Gaben, it is a service problem. And many of the draconian restrictions (like DRMs and regional) they put in place actually make it better for costumers to pirate things over buying them legally. That's how stupid it is.

But if instead of adapting, understanding their costumers and looking for new models to profit from properties without the stupid they are still trying to cling unto a model that has been proven completely useless time and again... if companies can't be bothered to evolve. Then good riddance, others are evolving and profiting from it whether they like it or not.
