The second upgrade for the Adds ___ Effect options seems really reasonable by comparison. 20k exp in a given zone while wearing the gear is completely understandable. I'm going for the full SMN set and at very least... the NIN hands.

it's not any given zone, its the zone that piece drops in. For instance, Nin hands is 20k xp from Xarc or Tav only.
and from what i understand...xp rings dont work there either. And eveyrthing is EP-DC so no chains.

Still not completely horrible though. can still make money and get items for other jobs.

IIRC it's around 100-200exp/mob in those zones. Even without chains you can do that in several days of working at it with profit to boot (as you said).

Sadly, I only have the win for Bastok, Windurst and Jeuno. I'm lacking a win in San d'Oria to complete my transition into the outlands. From what I've read through the links you provided, the "forgotten" items only seem to drop in Valkurm, Buburimu, Xarc and Beaud. These are all zones I still can't enter yet.

Even more curious is the fact that it seems only one "Forgotten" drops in each zone... but given that there are only 4 "advanced" zones but 5 armor slots... we're missing one somewhere.

have you tried...

you can enter them... you need to be past Diababols in the CoP line. DOnt need city/iceland clears for valk/bub/quf.

But look up how to proc nightmare mobs when you get the chance. Its different then procing beastmen.
You will net double the currency than you would in cities.

bah i got 5 more mins.

Honestly, from the amount of coins i read peopel were getting in duos and trios, it wasnt a ton more than i was getting solo (if those groups divided evenly). And it was dangerous because you only have 1 mob claimed. Lately people have no problem stealing links...even if you already proc'd them.

It hurt Bsts as well though...i dont think jug AoEs work that well anymore on unclaimed mobs. Was pretty cool procing 2-3 mobs at a time though...

My plan is to go in as a duo with a buddy of mine. I'll be going as SMN/RDM and him as MNK/DNC. Our focus will be me pulling the TE mobs hate-free using carbuncle with him procing with Steps on the JA mobs once we have all 5/5 TE. I would personally like to come as NIN/DNC, but it's those last 2 TEs that are guarded heavily that steer me clear of using anything but the carby pulling method.

Consequently... SMN Bloodpact's (offensive) are classified as JA and eligible for JA procs. I've managed to land a few last time I was in Dynamis - Windurst. The recast timer on BPs is the only thing that would slow me down... but at least I can help speed up procs while we widdle them down.

It’s going to be hard to Carby pull only because the statues are so damn slow. To be honest, you might be better off putting an avatar on it, aggroing whatever is nearby, then the mnk run in and kill it right where it stands before your avatar dies. Wouldn’t worry too much though. it’s the EP beastmen, only a select few pose threats (ones with lethal 2hrs). Also, you cannot proc the TE mobs. So…just mow them down asap.

@Yyg- in regards to your message. What were you fighting (level wise)? From what I’ve been hearing the EP nightmare mobs DO drop, but at a very low rate for forgotten items. The DC groups have a much higher rate.

Last night I did Qufim with a buddy (2 Bst/Dnc). We killed the boss (needed clear) then went to the SE area near the path to Jeuno. We did Weapons/Rocs & Bats/Dirmites all during their JA times. All of them were the DC versions (not the EP). We ended up getting a total of 150 ish coins and 15 forgotten xyz (the leg ones).

Rule of thumb. If you’re going for straight up currency, fight EPs. If you’re going for Forgotten items, fight DCs.

Its kind of a crap shoot if you got a SMn/rdm and Mnk/dnc. The mnk would obviously be better during the JA proc times, whereas the smn would be better at Magic proc times (spamming dia or bio). Although IIRC, its easier to JA proc. Hell, if you got the -perp/refresh to spare, go smn/dnc to help spam steps.

yeah, so I was reading on BG a few days ago, and mind you, i haven't played in around 2-3 months, however... Apparently on the test server, you need 2000 of a said item to upgrade mythics to 99.... and that item drops off of pandemonium warden....

So.... yeah.... not sure how accurate this is but.... F U SE, for like the bajillionth time
