I still read these forums. I love seeing comments from Yygdrasil, Taskmage, Squiggs, Cidbahamut, Murphie, and a few others.

But you know, one thing's been bothering me heavily... I regret getting rid of my main account. As of this morning before coming to work, I created a character from a new ID when I repurchased the game.

Maybe this should go in the "Returning Players" section, but I just want you all to know, me getting rid of my account was the dumbest idea ever. I play other games, but keep thinking of FFXI.

Originally, I was born and raised on Cerberus before I transferred. Started in Feb 2008; transferred in July 2009.

So, if you guys see me running around on Cerberus, don't be shocked lol...

Why would this surprise us in the slightest? They always come back, and that's why you don't sell/delete your character.

As I stated before, it was a means to FINALLY be done with the game. But let's face it. I can't bear it no more. I even tried to replay FF7, FF8, FF9, Chrono Cross, and even just downloaded Chrono Trigger from the PS Store...but the effect just isn't the same.

It might actually be fun starting over, maybe...unless I can recall my login information from my other character (SE couldn't help me).

Can't say I don't know the feeling. I came this close to deleting my character late last year to keep me from coming back. I don't think I've ever voluntarily made it more than three months without resubscribing.

I've taken some breaks from time to time so I've never felt the need to delete my char to keep me from playing.

Although this last time a combination of not being able to log on plus me being upset about that silly Aby mob made this last break pretty much a permanent one.


So my char will forever sleep in his mog house with Prishe.


Or until SE shuts the servers down.

Still, less than 2 weeks means the addiction is strong with this one. <_<;

I deleted back in 2007. Took me 3 minutes to delete everything, 3 weeks to regret my decision, and a further 3 years of frustration dealing with an assortment of chimps in S-E customer service to retrieve my characters.

That said, I haven't played FFXI now for over a year, right before the launch of the final Abyssea addon. I still get the urge to return frequently but I know the game I have fond memories of is long dead and much like my annual returns to Everquest it's best living with the memory of what was rather than confront the what is.

The problem comes from being able to access this stuff with more ease nowadays...lol...

I can't remember if I deleted my characters... I do know I dropped/gave away everything. I will always have a yearning to come back - especially because of this forum.

Doesn't help I'm subscribed to Kaoz's Youtube channel. He makes BST look so sexy.
