The only way it could have possibly been awesome for everyone would be if it stacked with Accession. I don't think that there's any possible way to deny that.
That's not a problem with the spell specifically so much as it is a problem with SE's refusal to make buffs AoE for Red Mage. An issue which ought to be addressed alongside frustratingly short duration times.
All the complaining about buff cycles could be eliminated if stuff was party-AoE and lasted 15 minutes as a base duration. No one whines about applying Protect and Shell because you can cast it, forget it and get on with your business. They need to retool most of the buffs in the game to be more like that.
Official forum. Signed in for the first time today to get the Crysta thing sorted out and got sucked in.
I haven't posted there lately and this latest announcement of Temper being self-target only disappointments, but honestly doesn't come as much of a surprise and I'm beginning to think they were just talking out of their ass when it came to the job manifesto. Maybe, in the end, the RDM Manifesto was just pretty talk for "Your job is fine and we're not going to give you a damn thing." If they played the job, they would know that we have never, ever been able to make other jobs "demigods", and Temper really isn't out of line with what the job has an abundance of- spells that only augment the self, which comes across to me as a waste of high Enhancing magic. It even remains to be seen of Temper will be Double Attack, or just a better chance at more swings. Even WHM has Boost-Attribute and Auspice spells above and beyond us to enhance party members.
It's a bit of a cynical argument for making our tier II enfeebles level-progressed instead of merited. I can already see it now. At level 99, our next category of merits will likely include Addle II. Apparently, all being a specialist mage in this game means is you get a tier or 2 of spells above the other mages, rather than getting anything truly unique except in the way of job abilities. The only differences are that WHM doesn't have to merit to get Cure V and BLM doesn't have to merit to get Stone V. And even with the unique spells that set the 3 allegedly specialist mage jobs apart, most of them are subbable.
But eh, I don't even feel the incentive to talk on the Official Forums these days. Just about the only reason to go there is to be on the lookout for the next NatureBeckles or Rosina. I, for one, nominate Hyrist, since all he ever spouts is garbage, yet people take him dead serious.
I second the nomination of Hyrist. The dude's just so out of touch with the reality of the game that it's funny in a sad soul-crushingly depressing sort of way.
Man... the more I think about it... the more I realize how disappointed I am with these last few THF updates. We've really gotten the shaft these last few. I'd really love to have something that makes it so THF brings more to the table than TH. TH III was the last good thing we really got. I'd love to have another dmg dealing ability like SA/TA. I'd even be slightly excited if SE made crossbow worthwhile. I've often wondered why THF doesn't get any WS's with crossbow.
Idk... intimidation might be okay... just dependent on many factors. But, no matter, it's dissapointing.
This is an RDM post. No talking about THF! Nice try though...
