    Re: Thinking of Coming Back

Well I got installed and set-up FFXI again today and I wanted to cry when I saw all of my lovely macros were gone.....

What fun it will be to recreate all my macros...
Depending on how you feel about the unofficial Windower's legitimacy, you may want to look into the SpellCast plug-in for Windower. It has a bit of a learning curve, but you should be able to understand it within 2-3 days and it'll make managing your gear swaps an absolute breeze.

Did you ever save them to the server? There's some magic key combos to save/load them to the one slot per account available on the server, but I don't remember them because I use the joypad commands (I think L1+L3 / R1+R3) that I only remember by feel.

Yeah, but you still have to recreate all the macros. I'd go nuts if I had to re-do all my macro palettes from scratch again, even with spellcast taking care of the gear-swapping.

I did that once since I played originally on PS2 and then moved on to PC. I'll check but if they wiped my macs in game they may have dumped them on server. Thanks for the idea.

I've never used windower (I got used to the games book sets before I moved over and never wanted to learn a new system) but cid understands the intricacy of Red Mage macs if you're a good mage. I even had a set of soloing as well as party macros so I'm going through trying to remember everything I had that made life easier. PLUS I'd just done the macs I was going to use for my Matt fight... I have all the stuff and the testi accept for a couple foods.

Your macros are NOT stored in-game, except for that one server save slot. They are stored in the client files. If you un-install/re-install they're gone.

              Re: Thinking of LEAVING

Okay, i've been playing for awhile now and the game has seriously changed. It's impossible to find a LS with more than 5 members who are never on anyway. I've pt'd and solo'd a ton of jobs to mid levels and I've gotten LB4 completed. I'm tired of playing alone and was wondering if you guys felt the same way? What happend to the socialness of the game? i'm on lev server yell if you agree

I don't agree. But I'm not on your server, so maybe it's just Leviathan.

I have to disagree. Squiggs and Romyo's ls is always full. sure there are down times because we all work and stuff but usually there is more than 5 members in at all times. And we are always doing something.

Hello everyone. I too have come back from a long time of not playing. I started fresh, made a MNK on Bahamut, and I just hit 18. Someone said that most of the stuff in the game is soloable. I was wondering how true that is for the subjob and advanced job quests.

If anyone here is on Bahamut and wants to play, let me know!

Yes, soloable if you're level 90+. Most things pre-75 are still challenging (except for things like CoP, just to name one).
