Final Fantasy XI could come to PlayStation Vita -Destructoid
Its an interesting idea, but I fear SE would shoehorn this into the existing multiplatform setup and that would be problematic for a PSV version of the game. That and it this version would need to be an F2P game because the console and handheld community just cannot grasp the subscription model. That and if the F2P model was applied for the PSV version and it was able to interact with the existing community, there would be a tremendous backlash from the existing community.
I wouldn't mind seeing an FFXI game with a fresh community actually willing to help each other and a PSV version would be a great way to do that, but voice chat would be a must and I have my doubts about Sony and their ability to make the sort of storage this game would need available.
I don't even recall them saying the internal storage Vita would have, I know their Pro Duo minis aren't up to snuff for a game like this. SanDisk is getting there with their own format, but Sony isn't.
Though, to be fair, much of the original game could probably be placed on Vita's game format. Still, dunno if I could get behind a game that would likely eat up the up all my flash storage.
