Re: Every 1 Second, Video Pause (Lag)

    The rollback didn't work.

I'm gonna just keep the 266.58 drivers installed for now anyway.

I still have VMWare Infrastruction 2.5 installed on this laptop as well as some CISCO ASDM Modules, I doubt they would affect FFXI but who the heck knows these days. I can't remove these programs though, as I need them for work.

I removed GFI LANGuard, Wireshark and a couple other network related programs, but that didn't solve it.

I'm starting to accept the realization that I just need to quit playing FFXI and move on.

    it's a sad day indeed

I suppose I still have the good old-fashioned reset it to factory and see if the problem exists from the get go, but *sigh*, who wants to do that

    thanks,
    Derek Conlon of Colorado

I'm having the exact same problem. My game will run for 3 secs then pause for 1. It's driving me insane.

Also; my PC is far from crap...

I'm sorry to hear you are having the same problem as me. I know it is quite frustrating and makes the game virtually unplayable. However, this gives us a starting point to perhaps find a common ground between our 2 computers that may be causing this issue.

Here is a list of all the software I have installed on my laptop. Will you check this list and tell me every program that you have installed that is on this list?

I refuse to believe it to be a "graphic driver problem". I've been diagnosing and repairing computers for a long time and this issue is caused by something else. I'm almost certain its a program that perhaps has to do with networking or something of the sort, but I could be shooting blanks into the dark here.

Anyway, I probably am going to eventually reset my laptop back to factory defaults, and see if that fixes the problem, but before I do that, i'd like to see if we can find any information now that I have another person who's actually experiencing the problem, and isn't just talking blah blah blah based on what they THINK is true. (and cant seem to accept its not the graphics drivers)

Also, you didn't mention which video card you are using. I assume from the MB spec information you are NOT using a laptop?

If we are ever going to get this issue resolved, we will need to keep putting as much information up on this post as possible, and eventually we'll be like "oh shit, there it is". what a glorious day that will be.

100 bucks its not the graphics drivers.

        Thanks!!

Re: Every 1 Second, Video Pause (Lag)

Hello, just registered to write about my experience as it may help some with this problem.

I also have Windows 7 (64 bit) and was having the small pause every 1 sec. What I did was, besides following the advices posted here, I disabled a bunch of windows services that I think were not important. If you are thinking of trying this you should be careful, if you don't know much about computers maybe you can ask a friend, as you can disable an important part of the operative system.

          Good luck!

I think I have figured it out. Colon; I saw you have "Microsoft XBOX 360 accessories" under your list from dxdiag. Does that happen to be a wireless control? If so; uninstall it and put in a wired one. Not wired as in charge n' play; wired as in old school style. I did that and I get zero lag.

Let me know if it works.

Do you know which services you disabled? Was it lots? Just a couple?

I will try uninstalling the xbox 360 accessories also.

              Thanks,

Un-installing the xbox 360 program did not solve the issue.

                Thanks,

I have yet to try disabling services.
Would really like an idea of what you disabled.

I do not have a second screen and this problem doesn't happen if I alt-tab, it happens from the moment it switches from PlayOnline to FFXI App... (i.e. all the time)

A list of disabled services would be killer.

                      Thanks,

The only two things that do it to me are a large amount on my second screen or something behind FFXI, steam etc.
