    This makes it easier for more people to get the item, AND removes hours of standing around for TOD AND removes only one LS from being able to fight once a day.

      I'm not against the update entirely, I just don't understand why they're making it harder to get Black Belt but easier to get a D Ring... does not compute.

        Right. Because maintenance happens so often, and no one else has that idea. And back in the day there was also the issue with holding the thing 'til you've got enough people to kill it if you've claimed it right after maintenance.
        I'm not against the update entirely, I just don't understand why they're making it harder to get Black Belt but easier to get a D Ring... does not compute.
        EDIT: I missed your point. Anyhow, D Ring is already a 5% drop rate, so I don't see the point in lowering it. And again, you have better odds of getting a Black Belt now, not worse.

            It's a 5% drop from a mob that spawns like, what, 6 times a month? At those odds, a server could expect to see 2-4 drops per year. Call it three dozen rings per server in the entire history of the game. Is making it more common than that really such a bad thing?

              I only saw one D-ring drop in around a year of king camping and the guy who won it promptly sold his account within a fortnight.

                Lol at the "chance" at HQ thing. Did you guys camp kings? Every day you go to DA/BD/VoS you have a "chance" at the HQ unless it's day 1-3. HQ might pop on day 4 or it might pop day 14.

                I'd think that it would be just as random this way, as well. They're not changing the chance at an HQ popping, really. They're changing the method, but the chance of the HQ pop item drop is likely going to be about the same as the chance for an HQ king to have popped the old way.

                  We did ( The Horns of war ) KSNM99 multiple times earlier and never had a single behemoth tongue drop. 0/11

                  From that 11 people I think 6 of us had submitted an orb on behalf of our Ls leader telling him if it drops it's his.
                  I know it it's all down to luck and all but I felt really bad for my mate.

                    Because they're finally catching up on some more of the bullshit that the "Old SE Team" was too arrogant to ever change. As in "That's the way we decided it should be done, so that's the way it WILL be done. The playerbase does not understand our 'vision', therefore we shall ignore them."

                    Good for us that they got reassigned to pull that "vision" crap in XIV instead.

                        I've been playing since 2008, never did a KSNM, and still don't have 500 saved up yet. But even after doing a few BCNMs back in the day, I'm over 1400 on those. And over 100 on KCs already.

                        I think that's the reason so many old players were raging once "New SE Team" started raising the level cap and fixing broken shit like this that went against that little disclaimer box that comes up when the game starts loading. Remember that thing?

                        They had amassed so many rare drop penis enhancments over the years that suddenly meant nothing, at least in terms of usefulness. And they didn't want to do the (much easier) work to get the new penis enhancements, just to QQ about how now they're too easy because you don't have to wait in line for two years while other people get their Chapeau and then say "Finally! Now I can quit the game!"

                          I just don't see why they felt the need to lower BB drop rates is all. They always have to find some way to take the excitement out of an update. Overall I agree with the update as it's about fucking time they fixed kings but did they really have to remove it from the NQ's while lowering rates on the HQ's? Knowing my luck I'm going to end up spending every last KS I have and coming up 2/3.


                          Also, I want to fucking murder the asshole running a chainsaw outside before 9 A.M. on a Stat holiday, really hoping someone called the bylaw officers on this prick - _ -

                            Anyway the dropped BB rate is most likely because the frequency of actually fighting these guys are gonna sky rocket, (I estimate at least a 100% increase, MAYBE more?) and since BB has been considered to be on par with relics in term of rarity and usefulness I guess they don't want people who do have to feel robbed in their achievement or others being robbed of the achievement in general (holy run on sentence Batman!) I said it before but now I'm glad that the opportunity to fight is now replacing the fighting for opportunity stand point little by little.

                                They didn't say anything about adjusting the drop rate from the KSNMs themselves, though. Sometimes those guys are just very stingy.
