    [dev1009] New Trigger Conditions for Notorious Monsters

    • [dev1009] New Trigger Conditions for Notorious Monsters
      • Trigger conditions for following notorious monsters will be adjustedto spawn by trading specific items to the “???” in the respective area.
        Fafnir / Nidhogg: Dragon’s Aery
        Behemoth / King Behemoth: Behemoth’s Dominion
        Adamantoise / Aspidochelone: Valley of Sorrows

        - The ”???” will respawn a minute after the battle is over.
        - The NM will despawn if unclaimed for 90 seconds at the spawned location.
        - The feature wherein the level of these monsters will increase after battling them for a period of time will remain unchanged.

      • How to obtain the trigger items:
        Fafnir: Treasure from “Early Bird Catches the Wyrm”
        Behemoth: Treasure from “Horns of War”
        Adamantoise: Treasure from “The Hills are Alive”
        * At least one of these items will be dropped in every battle.

        Nidhogg: Treasure dropped by Fafnir
        King Behemoth: Treasure dropped by Behemoth
        Aspidochelone: Treasure dropped by Adamantoise

      • The treasures dropped by the following notorious monsters will be adjusted as follows:
        Fafnir : Wyrm Beard removed
        Nidhogg : Drop rate of Wyrm Beard decreased
        Behemoth : Behemoth Tongue removed
        King Behemoth : Drop rate of Behemoth Tongue decreased
        Adamantoise : Adamantoise Egg removed
        Aspidochelone : Drop rate of Adamantoise Egg decreased

    Hey, not bad at all. Sure beats standing there. Sucks that monks lose that 100% drop on the HQ NMs but I say its a even trade for control over fighting who and when rather then hoping for who and hoping "this time".

        Wait…I could be reading this very wrong but are you now forced to do the KSNM99?

        So you need to earn 99 seals
        Win the KSNM
        Pop Behem/win
        Pop KingBeh/win
        cross fingers for drop

        I mean I think im ok sitting on 1000+ KS but I don’t think most non Bst/Pup/Blm people have that many.

        Is there still a chance for it to drop in the KSNM (I never tried them)? If so then I guess i'd be happy with that. Seems like you'd get 2 chances.

        Is it me or does it seem like this will just make a long line of people waiting for ??? to pop....
        If I am reading it right…maybe for the first couple weeks till everyone runs out of seals.

          How many years were people asking for this and how long did it take SE to respond?

          And this was pretty much the exact way players suggested this to be done for years.

          Why do important changes like this take place years after people have lost interest? In my case, there's still nothing there for myjobs, but had this been implemented properly and years earlier, everyone could have stomached the nonsense that is doing kings without resorting to saying rubbish like they get a "rush" from claiming kings.

            I wouldn't have this any other way. I avoided HNM like the plague because of the wait game and then when you get there its a mess of other people waiting for the exact same thing. Couldn't even have a nice "kill everyone in the room for rights on fighting the guy", it was just a matter of who called dibs after it spawned. Plus the frequency of fighting the things if you were to lose said dibs match was just retarded and I would rather not set aside a day just on the sheer hope of fighting then beating then maybe getting something if the point system would allow it.

            No, just no. In fact all timed spawns can suck it.

                  Yup, I finally came back to the game (because I heard of the crazy XP sessions, and they weren't lying.) It generally seems like the new development team is trying to take away the humongous grind that was so prevalent from the beginning.

                  The only problem I have with this is that it's OLD content now (since Abyssea Armor is a generally better than Cursed Gear now), and save for a few items (D. Ring, BB items, Ridill...which is kinda meh since 2h Axe became the norm for Warriors). I know that most people (especially on my server, since we have a VERY high level of Paladins) will be lining up in Behemoth's Dominion for a chance at that Defending Ring.

                  But at least we got what we asked for (years later, when the game is in it's twilight.)

                      Really the only people I can see this helping are the people who were never in an HNM shell and never had the chance to kill any one of these mobs over the past several years. Those people would have never had a chance to take their puny non-botting social to the Aery and get the claim against 200 botting HNM shells.

                      It will hurt the market for people selling BB items from HQ kings, but really, we were selling them at 2m a pop back in 2008/2009, so it's not like they were a hot ticket item. This is a good change, I guess, but way too late for it to matter. Are there actually people still camping the kings anyway? Except for the people needing BB items?

                      Well, people on the official forums bitched about no one exping outside of Abyssea anymore and there you go, SE's roundabout solution. Gotta love SE's logic. And everyone who was an elitist and already had everything they needed from kings three years ago is going to ignore this change and continue burning the shit out of Abyssea anyway. So ... win/win?

                        Again, maybe if this change and all these other "really? now?" changes had happened years ago, we wouldn't be making credible claims about the game being in its twilight.

                        At the same time, I'd like to take my credit where it's due here. I think it's obvious that someone at SE heard I ate my cookie and figured if they didn't start coming through on shit they should have done years ago, I was going to make them look bad. So far all these long overdue changes, you're welcome everyone. ^^/

                            Why waste time fixing something years fucking late when pretty much everyone but the most avid poopsockers still bother with the kings?

                            Sucks for monks because that'll probably equate to Ridill level drop rate now.

                              Probably this ties in to their recent promise to make abjuration gear upgradable or somehow more relevant. There are still some abjurations you can only get from these guys and not through einherjar aren't there?
