    I think QQing over the lack of HQ drop or the rate of HQ drop until we see what the rate of HQ drop is is premature. Then again, this is FFXI, and if people can't nerdrage, I don't think they know what to do.

                Haves lording things over have nots is one of the dumber aspects of MMOs. If you need an item in a game to feel better than other people who also play said game, then reevaluate.

                  The update basically says you gather 99 KS for the BC, which will always drop at least 1 NQ pop. It then says that the HQ pop can be dropped by the NQ mob - it's not guaranteed. And knowing SE it will be some retarded low rate.

                  Then they take things a step further by removing BB items from the NQ pops entirely. What. The. FUCK?!

                  So they've essentially made it easier to get a shot at the BB but made it harder to actually get it by virtue of reduced chances & drop rates. All the while D-Ring & Ridill are untouched, and will probably be seen more often now since NQ mobs are likely to be popped and killed a whole lot more as a whole.

                  That's bullshit. BB is *amazing* for MNK, for D-Ring is far more game-breaking IMO.

                      Don't all the BB items drop from the KS99s anyway? And how exactly is SE taking something away by reducing the drop rates of a mob that 99% of players were never going to have a chance to claim anyway and then give everyone the chance to fight it? They changed it from most monks having no chance to fight the HQ mobs for a sure drop to all monks having a chance to fight the mob for a second chance at the drop.

                        And kept the servers being completely flooded by changing a 100% drop from a mob you had 0.1% chance of fighting to a less than 100% drop while increasing the odds of fighting the mob exponentially.

                        SE hasn't exactly shown recently they understand what balance is, but someone working on this change had at least heard about it.

                                The wiki lists the drop rates of BB items from the KS99s as 21.8% for Wyrm's Beard, 14.4% for Adamantoise Egg, and 26.5% for Behemoth Tongue. You can round that out to 20% across the board, imo, which isn't bad. The NQ king drop rates are listed as 16,9% for the beard, 5.7% for the egg, and 10.3% for the tongue, so those odds seem closer to 10% rather than 50. Considering how few people have black belts, I find those numbers much easier to believe. And again, given the situation claiming kings, those numbers might as well have not existed for most players at all.
