    • [dev1006] Merit Point Adjustments
      • The upcoming version update will see an increase to maximum limit for point allocation in certain merit point categories.
        • Maximum Total Ability Increase by Category
          • HP/MP: Increased from 8 to 12
          • Attributes: Increased from 5 to 8
          • Combat Skills: Increased from 20 to 32
          • Magic Skills: Increased from 16 to 24
          • Others: Increased from 8 to 10

        • Maximum Number of Upgrades by Ability
          • HP/MP: Increased from 8 to 12
          • Attributes: Increased from 5 to 8
          • Others: Increased from 4 to 5

    Awesome sauce. Now I can keep my 8 Polearm & Great Katana merits and cap out hand-to-hand as well.

      Awsome. This changes everything. No longer am I going to use my stored up 20 merits on ninjitsu spells I'll never cast unless I'm procing. Heres whats happening:

      Combat:
      8/8 Katana
      8/8 G. Katana
      8/8 Dagger (Once I get THF leveled up)
      4/4 Evade
      4/4 Parry

      HP/MP:
      12/12 HP (My Tarutaru SMN never runs out of MP as it is)

      Other:
      5/5 Critical Hit Rate
      5/5 Spell Interuption Rate -% (Helps NIN and SMN)

      Magic:
      8/8 Ninjitsu
      8/8 Summoning Magic
      8/8 Blue Magic (Once I get BLU leveled up)

      I will enjoy this. I will enjoy this very much.

        yeah this is cool, I can keep my capped sword, and cap H2H as well to help my PUP.

        No to mention more HP, have to take out my 4 MP merits and take HP from 4 to the new 12

          Hell yes. 120 total HP from merits at 12/12 is awsome. With Abyssea enhancements that brings it to 132. With atmas it brings it up even higher... between 150 and 175. To a tank like me... that means 1 more hit I can take... and as a taru... I need to be able to take that 1 more hit.

                    Yeah I have 8/8 Enfeebling & Elemental, now I'm free to dump another 8 points into summoning or blue magic, awesome!


                    @.@ oh lawd this means BRD can have maxed singing, string & wind skills. +120 MP as an Elvaan is also really freaking nice (particularly when I'm out on DRG) and +8 STR is pretty damned tempting, wow. Though I haven't even touched that category yet.

                      Silly Malacite. Nobody plays that job. Unless you were talking about BIRDs... and in that case... BIRDs can only sing. They certainly can't play instruments... stringed or wind type. Silly silly Malacite... you and your wild imagination.

                          that does not really exist anymore in FFXI (IMO a sad fact) You level to 30, then have your LS PL you to 90 in Abyssea, then go skill up and your own passe (skill up is faster now as well) and then your set.
