Ever since coming back I've been pretty lost. I mean, it's pretty normal after coming back from a long break to have lost direction, but this time I can't seem to find it. I looked over my friend's ffxiah pages to see what kind of gear I should be going for now, and it seems like every single thing requires abyssea. I should get to 90, but again abyssea required. I don't really want to sink another $30 into a game I'm not even sure I'll still want to play in a month. Is there anything left to do with the content I have?

Depends on if you want to try a new job to see if you want to stick with it or not, or if you're interested in smaller parties or level sync to level past 75 for existing jobs.

You can buy the level 78 (Perl, Teal, pink stuff depending on job) and it's not expensive so you wouldn't be completely left out of new gear. Weapons beyond 75 are magian weapons anyway and that doesn't require Abyssea for most of them either.

Or just buy one Abyssea. Heros added Dominion and there are some I've been told can be soloed depending on job, or done with smaller parties. Actually I could do with finding one that could be duoed with a lower level PLD and my RDM.

Mainly, you probably need people to do stuff with. That and one Abyssea expansion might help.

Or do nothing, hell you're not even on my server.

I've been spending most of my time on your server due to lack of direction on Lakshmi.

If I were just going to pick up one abyssea pack, which should it be? I could at least get started on a couple AF3+1 pieces that way.

Character name and when are you on? I never see Murphie other than that one time either. I don't think half the server exists.

What was your highest job or jobs again? I would say get Hero's of Abyssea if there is a Dominion Op you could solo/duo. That would also get you access to AF3 body and hands.

Past two days I've duoed with a 71 PLD in Ro'maeve doing a magian trial and with the emperor band and no waiting for FoV pages have got 2.5 merits. You really don't have to party to make progress, though it would be even faster if I could find a Dominion Op to do.

On Valefor my character name is also Lago, and I've been around Windurst. Ran into Murphster and Meridan a couple times each. I'm most likely to be on after 9 pm CDT, but I'm on occasional afternoons, too.

On Lakshmi my highest are rdm and pld at 76.

You need to get on earlier. And your best character is stuck on Lakshmi.

You need to move you main over to Valefor. Once you do that, invest in the first Abyssea expansion (Visions?) yeah Visions. That will get you started with the actual questline of the set.

Each of the expansions was geared towards a certain level range.

The first expansion (Visions) catered to people going from 75-80... introducing La Thein Plateau, K. Highlands and T. Canyon areas.

The second expansion (Scars) was more aimed at 80-85... with Attowah Chasm, Vunkerl Inlet and Mis. Coast areas.

The added Heros last for 85-90 with U. Rang, Grauberg and Altepa. The only significant change that came with this expansion was the addition of Dominion (Think FoV on crack). People abuse the crap out of Dominion... with a fury.

The questline for the expansions begins with the first in the series. If you pick that one up you can get going on the actual story and you'll be provided with mobs that you can probably handle right off the bat.

In order to progress from 80-85 you need Kindred Crests. Same goes for 85-90. These drop off of any mob in abyssea. They can effectively be solo obtained.

He is indeed on Valefor. But he seems content with his current LS situation. Which is cool. I admire that he has been able to accomplish what he has while duoing.

The people in my shell seem to spend most of their time in Ule[tab] and Aletpa. Is there any reason I can't skip to Heroes?

You can skip to heros. I think you can at least flag the quests to gain admittance to Abyssea with any of the 3.

You see them in Altep and U. Range because those are the 2 most popular EXP AS FAST AS YOU POSSIBLY CAN Dominion areas.
