Same. That WHM/BLM needs Macc Gear/Atmas out the ass... and IMPECABLE timing on stuns. But it is possible... and I'm totally jealous of those who can accomplish it on a regular basis.

I firmly believe you should try every NM a couple times but after that, I see no reason why you cant farm cruor and brew your way to a 90 emp.
I actually would brew alfrad but seeing as it took me about 15-20 minutes to kill in a duo, I figured I’d just do it the ol’ fashion way.
I will however be brewing my bukhises…just gotta find 2 people to farm KIs with me
Now I’ve never fought Apademak or it’s NQ Khim for the KI…but I’ve read about him so I’ll let you Katana people slide. But I have fought some of the wyrms/cerbs/hydras and they aren’t that bad at all.
He's honestly not that bad if you've got a few good stunners and stun rotation going.

How’s the lower version? The one needed to get the KI? Is he pretty easy? Because that would be the only threat. Again, I haven’t tried either of them, I just know they level up to thunder damage or something.
Anyway, my point is there is no reason you shouldn’t get an Emp to at least 90. Not going to 95 is understandable at this point (from what I’m hearing about plates at least) but with how easy it is to get cruor these days…I see no reason why you cant brew your way through it.
Even if the 85 –> 90 is very minor stat wise, I still think it’s worth the effort. Do it slowly if you have to, but don’t just disregard it completely.
I have the Cruor.... and the thought crossed my mind. I just don't know If I have the will to farm THAT MUCH MORE CRUOR.
I’m guestimating here but I would think one needs upwards of 4m in cruor (more or less depending on how efficient you are)
From my experience, it seems like the trial items drop at a 1.33 rate off most NMs (that is my opinion from doing many sobeks/alfards/fuistules/gigas/carabosos…etc). So for every 3 fights, you’ll most likely get 4 items.
Every Brew you use should last long enough for you to kill 3 back-to-back NMs (we’ve done upwards of 6 Draugas once). To this you need to have some of the better brewing atmas though.
So you need 75 items
1 Brew gets you 3 kills at 4 items
75 / 4 = 19 fights (rounded up)
19 x 200k = 3.8m in cruor (plus a little overage for buffs...etc)
3.8 is a lot...but you need to be effective when farming cruor. Go with 2 or 3 people who you know will lend you helping hands. Dramatically reduces the amount of farming time you need.
With 2 people you only need to farm up 1.9m in cruor (each). Or 2 trusted friends and you need to farm about 1.3m (each). Hell even going with a group of 6 LS friends leeching subjobs and farming 200k cruor would be nice.
Its not very difficult to make if you farm correctly, you can get 500-650 curor per kill plus the random 1k chests.
Is all this time consuming? Yes.
Is this out of the picture? No.

Apademak-specific brewing tips: Sanguine works well and he always drops lucid wings, so you can speed up your kills by having people stand near the brewer and spam their wings. Iirc we were able to squeeze nine kills into one brew on one run.

The lower version is significantly easier AppaIcan'tspell.
I still have to transfer to Valefor and get settled into a new LS before I can think to ask anyone to do that with me... but these are all suggestions that are actually motivating me to go through with it.
