Oh that's right, Summoner's have a metric ton of super situational gear like Scholar don't they?

@ gear differences in XML files: Bah, you'd have to tweak stuff regardless.

I'm carrying about 75 pieces on me right now... JUST for SMN. I actually left a bunch of stuff in my MH that I didn't think I'd ever use... but does indeed have USE.

Off the top of my head:

7 Staves
3 Grips
3 Ammo Pieces
5 Head Pieces
5 Pairs of Gloves
4 Leg Pieces
5 Feet Pieces
3 Belts
6 Earrings
3 Rings
4 Back Pieces
5 Neck Pieces

And that's all I can think of right this second. 53 of them... but I know there's a lot more.

I couldn't carry all of the gear that I had in my SCH spellcast (and I'm not counting melee gear). I usually ended up leaving stuff like fire/water staves and some less-important stat gear (hMP there toward the end) in my mog satchel. Even then I was usually 78/80 when I was doing stuff on SCH.

I created an Excel macro that would read my spellcast XML for a selected job so I'd know which pieces of gear to grab when I changed jobs. It had the option of including/excluding specific pieces (again, usually melee gear) so that I was sure I had the right pieces for when I was going to be meleeing on RDM or BRD.

Spellcast was a blessing and a curse. As my XML got better and better, I found myself using my macros less and less. Instead of trying to remember which macro to use, I'd usually just hit the JA/WS from the menu (not counting JAs that I'd want to stack, of course). It got to the point where I couldn't play anywhere but on my laptop because my macros were so outdated.

I haven't updated a macro in months. If they ever break Spellcast for good I'm sunk.

I prefer to think that Spellcast is exclusively for those OCD folks who can't comprehend the idea that maybe, just maybe, situational gear just plain isn't worth the inventory space . . .

There are definitely some pieces for which this is certainly true, but there's something to be said for the massive performance boost offered by a lot of situational gear.

For example, Uggy Pendant's +8 MAB in the neck slot was only recently matched by Stoicheion Medal. Not outpaced, but simply matched. That's some potent stuff right there.

All gear in this game is situational. If you start making a distinction between "situational" and "REALLY situational" you've created a slippery slope. And I'm guessing the game's UI still blows in terms of responsiveness. Anyhow, you know the old saying: Don't knock it 'til you've tried it.

I know there’s a couple other situational pieces I forgot to count (like rings I think) but yeah…that’s generally what I carry around when I’m on bst. And there’s ALWAYS 2 spots filled up for beastman seals/crests. It’s like no matter how many times you NPC them there’s always one taking up inventory space.

I'm glad that I'm not the only person with a crazy inventory. What scares me is my inventory is mental and even when thinking about it I feel it is gimp gear and could do with an overhaul/more stuff.
Macro's annoy me but what makes it worse for me is the SE dev's on the forum when they say "We'd look into that blah blah blah too much resources, Here bst have a novelty pet.

Why can't they look at elements of windower and incorporate it to the game. peoples Tp larger macro's with the spellcast thing. Surely if parent's basement dwellers can make this to run alongside the game, Surely our game makers can produce similar results, Heck even if there was a "windower" <- not to be confused with windowed mode, To DL then I'd be happy. I've never used windower but when I know how it would benefit me I feel foolish that I choose not to use it out of principle. I still see it as cheating
I'd love to change 15 gear peices at once. I'll average at about 12/14 swaps per spell on my sch. I am sick of SE's bs excuses though, Here bst's take this novelty pet with no Tp moves, WTF is up with that? Why even waste time and money on crap like that when there is real work to be done.

Totally making windower macros right now for SMN. I've given in to the dark side.

Baby steps. We'll get you to come around to Spellcast eventually.

I also remember when I made the transition from stock FFXI macros to Windower macros... the jump to spellcast followed very soon after ^^

I’m bored at work and this topic hasn’t seen much action in a few days…soooo got some new long/insane goals.

JOBS
As you may have noticed…I usually come up with silly/stupid things to do. Some I follow through with, some I don’t. they sound fun in my head.
We’ll see how this one goes.

Going to +1 Emp gear for every job. I mean I won’t go too far out of my way to get seals (mainly come from KI nms) but the goal is to get everything at least +1.
No more tossing seals unless I have the upgrade. Gonna horde everything on a mule. I recently leveled Mnk and had 0 seals when I hit 99. I know I tossed well over 8 head/leg/feet seals for the job if not some body/hands also. And I have to do it all over again which is annoying.

You need 840 seals over all. I’m at around 325.
This should be fun…

WEAPONS
Ideally Vereth is my last Emp/Relic weapon that I’ll work on…and I’m doing a very casual job on it. halfway through Itz scale farming I decided to kill the Worm as I got pop sets from amber farming instead of constantly depopping those KI chests. So now I’m 14/50 Ulh Fangs. Gonna do this stage backwards during free time. Maybe even sell some +2 items if the option presents itself.

I’m having thoughts on doing Amyur
I’m contemplating leaving Guttler at 95, Ukon & Vereth at 90 and selling off any Heavy Metal Plates/Marrows/Riftcinder…etc items for Alex pieces…
Pretty sure I can get 2 other people to do salvage runs with me here and there also.

Probably going to store Alex on a mule in case I ever decide to back out.

I dunno…I need something HUGE to work towards and I’m not sure if getting guttler from 95-99 would satisfy that urge.

MISSIONS
I’m going finish up Wings of the Goddess and Bastok missions. Nothing special here...jsut gonna get off my ass and do it.
