I used to get that crap, too. "WTF are you doing on forums if you have kids?" Because kids never sleep. Or go to school. Or manage to somehow occupy themselves for any period of time longer than three seconds.

I had a married couple in the ls that put the game first and I tried to get their address so I could call child services. When they were on vent you could hear the older kids begging them for supper and the parents would scream at them to get out of their faces (this was at 10pm their time). The last straw for me was when one of them kept asking for food and the father got off the game and beat the kid. I couldn't even get on vent for events after that. Most of the people in the ls couldn't stand them, and after some drama, I kicked them out of the ls.

God I remember when you first told that, I dont even know those people and I hate their guts...... That is the person though not the games fault. That guy in the thread seemed to keep insisting that "FFXI made her fat" and I find that a bit funny.

Yeah, I agree with Kailea. It was her choice to play the game instead of exercise, yes. It was her choice to eat fattening foods, yes. But FFXI did it? That's just asinine. While I'll agree that it's very easy to get so sucked up in these MMOs to the point where you'll lose several hours without even thinking about it (who hasn't sat down to play "for a few hours" and got so involved that they looked up and noticed six hours had passed?) and that it can be a contributing factor, it surely isn't the sole reason.

Just as learning to exercise more, to eat less, she will have to learn how to play FFXI in moderation so that she does have that time to go out and burn some calories. It's about learning self-control, which is the entire point of her (them) going on the show. And I definitely give them both props for doing that.
