Its especially nice for us returning players because it's a great kickstart into the game. Will probably make me feel glad I've returned at this time which is always very positive. Last time I felt very let down because the stuff that was introduced (mog mazes and such) were a bit disappointing.

16 isn't bad at all. Our last Xarc run (last Sunday) we only had SMN BLM and one other drop, as I recall. But we have had runs before where 3 THF hands drop.

In any case, I can't wait to see what cities and Beauc drops (our Beauc is next Sunday, I'll post something here about it).

Our Dynamis Jeuno run Tuesday we had over 25 relic drop. Several of them hit the floor as people already had them or didn't want inv -1 And this was with about 18 with a little farming after the clear.

EDIT: OMG it was actually 36 pieces! I guess our leader just guessed but just checked the posted parse.

There is no such thing as Inventory -1 from relic anymore. It costs 1000 gil one time to store as many individual pieces of Relic as you want. Even relic accessories are storable on the same ticket (just tested with my Pantin Cape). There is no reason for inventory to get in the way of getting AF, Relic or other 'bits and pieces' of complete sets.

Heck, I might start collecting on my next run...

All this update was about was another pathetic attempt to get people to resub. It doesn't matter what you think is special or not as most relic hasn't been that special for five years - but you can't deny there are still macro pieces in there people would consider a must-have. Duelist's Chapeu and Commodore's Tricorne haven't been replaced.

What this update says is that the fewer subscribers that FFXI has, the more effective Treasure Hunter gets. Now your dreams of getting Duelist's Chapeau can be realized without making it a note to quit the game on. Now you can stick around and still be a big jerk.

I'm not going to say that Dynamis' edge was its poor drop rate or that they're "dumbing down" Dynamis, because none of this changes the horrible design of Dynamis. Even so, they'd do better just making this stuff quested now and just scrap Dynamis entirely.

I'm really not excited that they made Dynamis' drop rates better... only cuz now I want to get back into it. I just really hate how long the runs are and that it makes the game feel like a job. I would like to complete my THF relic finally... sounds like hands are actually feasible now.
