Heroes of Abyssea—the third in the popular series of battle area add-ons—is now available for purchase via the PlayOnline viewer! Follow the Heroes of Abyssea banner from the FINAL FANTASY XI top page and acquire your registration code today.

Adventurers can take a sneak peek at the great challenges and even greater rewards that await them beyond the maw at the official Heroes of Abyssea site, newly updated with a promotional trailer. Also featuring monster profiles and wallpaper based on the official Abyssea concept art by acclaimed artist Jun Suemi, this update is something no player will want to miss!

And YES! A maw inside Al'taieu! OMG wtf, was that Bahamut at the end? It kinda looked like him, but the eyes were different, and the tail too... or... is that supposed to be Atomos' true form? Either way this is gonna be f'ing epic, I'm ordering my copy now.

Mal: Abyssea is an alternate timeline, remember? Selh'teus might not even be awake (since that was IIRC tied to the reactivation of the Ark system by (spoiler), which AFAIK we don't have any way of knowing whether it happened in the Abyssea timeline or not).

I wonder how much CoP progression you will need to access the new storyline -- IIRC you need to be almost finished (with the original, not AN) just to reach the entrance to Empyreal Paradox. And if you will be able to activate Atma and cruor buffs for the Abyssea-Empyreal Paradox battle, whatever it is.

New zones: looks like Altepa, Grauberg, Beaucedine. That will make the fourth version of Beaucedine in the game (normal, Dynamis, [S], and now Abyssea). Although I don't see any of the Pso'Xja towers -- maybe it's Uleguerand? Hard to tell those snow and ice zones apart from a few clips...

Probably the same amount of CoP progress you need to enter Abyssea: Misareaux - None.

I first thought it was the Ugly Range instead of the glacier.

Other in my shell are also saying the Range, but... for some reason the video clip seems to be in Xarc... anyone else see that?

Maybe not for the 3 new zones, but most definitely for the ending. Otherwise Prishe coming back makes no sense to the player.

Prishe doesn't need to make sense in the frame of the missions already put forth, it is a different dimension.

Also, the system requirements don't list requiring CoP, only Rise of the Zilart and Wings of the Goddess.

Did you miss the part where they had a maw inside the Garden of Ru'Hemet? Myself & others @ BG all feel that this is the new Apoc Nigh, possibly even the continuation of "The Last Verse".
