Re: Thinking about coming back
How much fun FF11 is pretty much comes down to who one plays with; if you can make friends or still have old friends who can hang out with you, you should enjoy the return from the get go. If not, expect the experience to feel slow, at least before you reach Lv.75.
Plenty of people still play, but the NA pick-up group scene isn't what it used to be. (Save Abyssea, but that's new.)Bamboo shadows sweep the stars,
yet not a mote of dust is stirred;
Moonlight pierces the depths of the pond,
leaving no trace in the water.

Re: Thinking about coming back
Depends on your time zone. The game is usually a ghost town when I'm on which is great for farming since my only competition would be Japanese players and the few European players left in the game who tend to move on once they see the farming camp taken are ask if you're willing to cooperate.Rahal Gerrant - Balmung - 188 DRK

Re: Thinking about coming back
XI is a very good game is you are able to make friends, but unfortunately most of the population is higher level nowadays, so you'll find yourself soloing a lot. And if that bores you you may end up getting tired of the game fast.
There are tons of content for a lot of level ranges, quests, missions and others, so even though XI's leveling is way slower than in other games there's always somthing to do while leveling up. But again, most of it will be solo nowadays.
Also, don't bother with the add-ons until you are lvl 75+
And by then there may be another vana collection including all of them for the same 15 bucks.
And last but not least, if you land on Fenrir and need help for quests like Genkai (level cap quests) or nation missions you can send me a tell or a message here and I'll help you if possible.sigpic

Re: Thinking about coming back
Yeah, in that case there's no point on starting playing XI.
There are other games (like Guild Wars) that would be much better suited for that amount of play time while waiting for other games.sigpic

Re: Thinking about coming back
May still be enjoyable. Some of my best memories in FFXI were from leveling low level jobs in LS parties and doing level capped Promathia mission fights; don't need to be a high level player to have fun, really.
As I've said before, it all depends on if you have friends to play with.Bamboo shadows sweep the stars,
