  • Where is everyone? Can't find a party for days!

I just came back to FFXI, and have been searching for a party for days on my level 22 dnc. DAYS. Where is everyone? How is one expected to level when there's only about fifteen level 20-25 at any one given time on the server, and no tanks to be seen? Where the heck is everyone???

12-25 astral burn (as sync) 25-75 astral burn as leech, or MMM - 37 and sync to 25 and start over till 75, 30+ key leech in abyssea, 75+ abyssea.

(I think thats how its done)

Any tips on how I can find these burn parties then?

Also, regarding Abyssea, should I put in my comment bar: "Abyssea = O, party yes, please." ?

            I'm sorry..... I don't understand a word you're saying?

"astra burn as leech" = ? How do I astral burn as a monster?
            MMM - 37 = Subtract MMM?
"Sync to 25 and start over" = How do I sync when I'm by myself? And what am I starting over?
            "30+ key leech" = There's a key called a leech?

I'm aware of what abyssea parties can do. That doesn't make his advice in any way reasonable.

Not enough people/jobs to build a PT? Put your flag up and do some FoV. Target mobs with decent drops and turn it into an xp/farming session. There is also supplemental xp in the form of Campaign Ops, Campaign Battles, or beseiged.

DNC is an especially strong (in a survivability sense) soloer. All jobs experience droughts at various levels. My advice is to just stick with it. You'll get through the tough levels, eventually.

[To leech means that you're taking advantage of the work of others. When you leech in a party/alliance, it is assumed that you won't really be contributing to the success of the group. Leeching in an abyssea party as a chest opener is an exception, since you are contributing to the success of the group by making sure that the chests are opened in time. In most cases, the term leech is used in this sense, not used in reference to the monster family leech]

Generally, you won't get invited until you're much higher level... As a DNC, you'll need to be high enough level to actually hit the mob, which won't happen until you're 70+ (more realistically: 75+).

Some people will take a job in @ 30 and leech by filling their inventory with Forbidden Keys and opening the chests for hours on end. This can be a good way to get xp, but usually, this spot is filled by the person building the alliance. You'll most likely have to build your own alliance, which you probably don't know how to do (yet).

Abyssea alliance leaders are unlikely to look at the seacom of a level 22 DNC. In order to be the chest opener, you'll need some cruor to purchase some keys, which you can only get by doing stuff in Abyssea (which you generally can't do at level 22). Until you get to be a higher level, you're kind of in a catch-22... Please don't expect to get significant xp in abyssea on your first trip to 70+.

              I'll try to translate:
Astral burns require a few summoners, a level sync target, and maybe a leech (or two). The summoners are required. So is the sync. The leech usually has to pay for their place in the party. Once the party assembles at camp, a puller pulls a LOT of mobs (almost every mob in the zone), which will hopefully be obliterated by the sync'd party of summoners. This results in a lot of xp in a relatively short period of time. Being the sync target could be quite common between levels 11-25. After that, if you're not a SMN, you'll have to pay to get into one of these (most likely).

MMM stands for Moblin Maze Mongers, which is a semi-customizable, time restricted dungeon which can accommodate a full party. It is quite common for parties to gather in Lower Jeuno and do a few MMM runs back-to-back, synced to a certain level. These parties generally configure the maze in such a way that they are fighting monsters from the bird family. At the successful completion of the maze, a chest appears with bonus experience points. This can be a very efficient way to gain experience points.

I believe Mageo is suggesting that a majority of the MMM parties will be sync'd somewhere between the levels of 25-37; hence the 'Sync to 25 and start over' suggestion.

The 30+ key leech is again referring to being a chest opener in an abyssea alliance, which may not work for you for reasons which I've already mentioned.

The beauty and curse of level sync creates some very specific level ranges at which you'll find yourself in xp parties. It is not uncommon to sync in qufim island from level 20-36. East Ronfaure {S} parties (sync'd 37-42ish) are very common. Levels 54-62 can be done in Aht Urghan zones (fighting colibri). Level 60+ parties can happen in a number of different places, but by this time Campaign Battles start to become a realistic source of xp.

Mageo's suggestions are unrealistic and lazy. You do not learn how to play your job doing what he suggested and I think that a very small percentage of the population actually levels their jobs from 30 to 75+ in that fashion.

If MrMageo is saying it, its on a no-need-to-know basis.

More or less you're looking for a party in a stretch of levels that has become standard to solo in the last couple of years. DNCs are also not the first priorty for the healer slot in party, DNCs are looked upon as backup healers and secondary damage dealers.

You should head out to Korraloka Tunnel or East Ronfaure (S) (its a WOTG zone) and solo worms for the time being. Keep your invite flag up and a warp scroll handy.

These days, most players are very high level and don't do a lot of EXPing at the low levels, so its difficult to find a party at low levels. Plus anyone that's seeking PTs is typically doing so in Aht'Urghan Whitegate and searching there for people rather than Jeuno or searching all zones.

All you can really do is solo and be patient.

You can easily learn your job at high level, what you miss out on is generic knowledge, of mobs and such

Short answer, you will solo a lot or wait a lot, long answer my non creative list is what people use to level take it as you see fit.'

And BBQ its hardly need to know

                    Google

                    MMM 25-37 FFXI
                    Key Leech FFXI
                    Astral Burn Leech/Sync FFXI

its not that hard to find answers.

You can solo FoV pages in Buburimu Peninsula or the Dunes if you are so inclined, with no problem at your level. Do that while your flag is up. Both areas with the FoV pages allow you to solo up to level 30. You may or may not get a party in that time while you're on, but you can still make progress.

People that waited til max level to learn their jobs are carried just as much though endgame as they are in EXP. No one likes people that are dead weight.

LOL ok bud. Because SMNs aremain healers in endgame. NIN's tank in endgame, THF's are actually used more than hitting the mob once. Give your had a shake. Job role in exp =/= endgame.

Give me one good example of what a job can learn in exp that he can't at endgame or at lvl cap?
