How do I have a friend pay for my month?

I have a friend who wants to pay for my FFXI subscription in a month. I haven't played the game in a year, what would be the best way to do this? Put in his billing info in the membership information, or is there a formal way to do it? Ideally I'd like to do it without having my old card being billed or anything. Thanks in advance

Seeing as how much of a hair trigger SE has on slapping LM-17 perma-bans on even the slightest credit card irregularities, this would be a very bad idea.

It's fine, it's also very common.

Though, you'd have to trust him enough to provide him your Content ID/Password. Alternatively, and to answer your question, yes, you can just gather the necessary information and input it into the Member Services area.

If he gifted the game to me on steam, would I be able to use the free month, or would it not work because I already had the games registered when I played on Xbox 360?

I'm in kind of a weird situation so I can't really use my credit card. so I'm thinking if I just gave him my account info he could fill in his billing, would it still work even though he's in Europe and I'm in America? Just making sure.

You would not be able to use the free month unless you were starting a new account.

Note also that when you reactivate a content ID, you normally get billed at the end of the month for TWO months, that being the month already passed and the upcoming month. This confuses people, freaks them to doing a chargeback, which results in a perma-ban. This is another thing you have to keep in mind.

Here is something you could do:
1) he gives you the money somehow, paypal or whatever
2) reactivate your content ID (on your credit card) on around the 3rd of the month
3) deactivate your content ID the next day (and definitely before the 20th or so)

This should cause you to be billed on your own card for exactly one month at the end of the month, and have a whole month worth of play.
