"Couple", as in "a set of two". As in two hours. Two's a couple, three's company, four's a crowd, how do you people not know this? When you talk about "couples", it's two people, right? It's not that hard to grasp.

What do you mean by level 30 to do abyssea ? i thought it is for level 75+

It is meant for level 75+. For whatever reason, however, S-E only restricted the mission line to characters level 30+, instead.

Like many things in the English language, it's used arbitrarily and can refer to anything over a single unit in conversation. As your link even stated, perhaps in a more formal atmosphere where precision is considered standard would it be an unacceptable use of the word.

Abyssea is kinda confusing me atm…Do different mobs affect xp/curor rates?

The reason I ask is because…

Party 1 - I joined a party two days ago. They were already at least an hour (maybe 2) deep. I went for just over 2 hours MAX. I entered and had 70 minutes saved up. Traded 1 stone to get above 90 minutes. We got maybe 2-4 TE while I was there iirc. So 70(saved)+30(stone)+~30(t.e.) = ~130 minutes. By the time I warped out I was getting borderline 550xp per kill (which was amazing btw). I started off in the low 100s so I don’t think you can join in a current run and get the same xp as everyone else. I went from lvl 75 (11k/44k) to 78 (5k/46k)…so well over 100k in that time frame. We were fighting Bees in La Thiene.

Party 2 - The next day, I joined a Mandy party. After almost 3 hours I was almost getting 250 xp per kill and overall I got like 20k. And that’s including the couple xp chests we got...it was certianly not as azmaing.

Both Parties had a full alliance with a nice mix of DD/Mages. Just from eyeing it…bees took longer to kill because they spammed Pollen and a lot of times we were waiting for the puller to get back with the next mob. They agro so you cant fight in the middle of them and sometimes the NM Bee wandered in the way.

Mandies rarely had down time because we were right in the middle of the camp.

Lights were built up more in party 1 since I came late, which would explain the more xp/curor chests there. But aside for that, the xp/kill grew MUCH faster on Bees.

Anyone else experience anything similar??

And back on topic:

It really depends on the strategy the group takes. They might have built the corresponding light for more boxes to drop Gold/Ebon Light, which increases the EXP floor by 10 points(?). Some groups concentrate on Blue Boxes to drop for TEs/EXP boxes, and sometimes neglect others. Also, different monsters, different levels; different players, different levels. 75s earn more than 78s, etc. Though that does seem like a large gap, I could be overlooking other factors, but even so.

For what it's worth, I used "a couple of ____" incorrectly for the most of my adolescence as well. Learned it, and moved on. heh.

I finally had a working Exp/Cruor farming alliance, for once. Averaged over 52k/hr over a 4 hr period (obviously much lower at the beginning than at the end--wouldn't surprise me if it was 80k/hr at the end.).

Wasn't there at the start, so no idea how the alliance was able to get to the self-sustaining point with TE's. When I first joined, though, the leader wanted Azure Light for a while, then Pearlescent light for a while, then back to free for all.

After he left, no one really cared, and yet we didn't run out of TE's and exp was fine. I guess the first 60~90 min determines whether an alliance will work or not; after that, just keep killing and maybe occasionally go for Azure if TE's haven't popped in a while or go for Pearlescent if not enough boxes are popping.

And, dedicated box openers--the alliances won't last without those. Get two people who will get and use the Forbidden Keys to open important boxes. They can bring lowie jobs they hate to level or can never find parties for, and just ride to 50+ (or 75+) on exp from boxes if they want, as long as they get to the Pyxis boxes fast and grab the TE's without fail.
