PlayOnline Issues

Okay so i am trying to activate a buddy pass, problem being that i cannot update playonline. The download of update files is slow and it will always give me a "network is busy message". Anyone know how to open ports and maximize settings for playonline so it is faster?

Are you trying to set up playonline from a computer with windows Vista, or Windows 7? If so, try downloading the play online off of the official website. That should help with the issue.

yes i have vista, i have playonline from the site but the trouble is it takes forever to download the version update for it. The first file is the biggest problem "daikoukai.114.bgw" i havent been able to get more then 45% without an error

What is the error saying?

Are you also running Playonline as an administrator?

im fine all the way until it starts the update. after a long ( hour+) time i get a "network is busy please retry later" message.

Currently I am installling the actual game from the disc and after that I will try again, not sure if that will have an effect but I am going to try..

Are you trying to update and install the game at the same time? If so, then that's most likely your issue. Try installing the game first then update.

I can't really think about anything at this moment though. Try waiting like it says if you are still getting the error. Or try contacting SE. They should still be open at this time.

I'm just going to grasp at a straw here and say that you should make sure that the window is in front and STAYS in front during the entire update.

I recall having something like that happen when I was getting it installed on a laptop (for portable use and as a backup to my PS2). When the window isn't in front it gets a lot less CPU time, and that can be enough to screw up an update.
