If a piece of gear has the ability
    "Enhances resist slow"
Does a job without resist slow gain any resistance against slow? Or do you need to have the trait naturally? The earrings I am thinking about getting have Evasion +4, (or maybe it was +5 - I cant remember atm) and and enhancing effect that I can't remember, but know THF doesn't have the trait. So I am wondering if it would be worth it, I know if I had a subjob that would gain the trait, it would probably work. but if the subjob I was using didn't have it....I guess bottom line: is there a point other than the evasion bonus. does enhancing give the trait or only increase the trait (My thinking is that it will only increase the existing trait)

As far as I know, you will gain the trait. That said, the chances of it actually activate is rather low.

Wouldn't recommend getting any gear based on "enhances resist xxxx". (Wouldn't recommend avoiding getting the gear, either, depending on what other stats are on it.)

What level is your THF, and what do you want the evasion for?

It will bestow the trait, but to such a minimal degree, that it's not worth making a choice one way or the other based on the "trait". That's the level 50 green earring right? the one from Assault points? It's not bad for a 50ish evasion build on thf, but I wouldn't worry to much about having it equiped during a party. In a group setting you'd be better off with the +3 AGI earring (Drone i think?) as that is a modifier for Trick attack.

I am at level 71, I am just looking for some new gear. I have been very unfortunate with BCNM runs, in the sense that nobody is willing to do them anymore. I am not sure how to go about getting a group together to do them, I ask in my linkshell and it seems everyone is always to busy. As for the drone earrings, they can be macro'd in during the trick attack. Parties are tough to come by and have been campaigning mostly to gain xp.

          Re: gear traits

I’m pretty sure it does. And like others have said, it’s minimal

For instance as Bst , and I use this example because I see many thfs use this as well, I used to use the Tatami shield.
Which has “Enhance Killer Effects”. Now yes bst does have killer effects but this shield is very mean some times.

It can intimidate players (a trait bst does not have).

Whm casts Cure IV on Romyro.
          Romyro intimidates Whm.
Goblin Smithy hits Romyro for 5 damage.
          Romyro falls to the ground
          Romyro delevels to 74.
Romyro punts the Tatami Shield like a football.

            Re: gear traits

Evasion is definitely helpful for soloing now, and later on when you tank on THF in certain type kinds of small group work. But, I'd probably go with Spike Earrings for exp parties when TP'ing and using SA (Drone Earring for TA). Not a THF myself, so not sure what other alternatives are there.

If you have a lot of Beastmen Seals and can't convince your LS to do BCNMs with you, may want to consider burning the seals on Treasure and Tribulations. For THF, probably THF/BLM--hit Perfect Dodge and then warp out if you get a Mimic.

Wow, did not know Tatami could do that. I'm sure this isn't possible, but it would be really sad if you could intimidate yourself from self cures.

Unless they have access to some of the R/E earrings available like Suppanomimi, Brutal etc then this is very good advice.

Yes…It can do that. And even though the procs are so few and far between…anytime one needs a cure, the last thing you want is to intimidate your whm.
Even though I died, I laughed so hard the first time I saw it.

                  Re: gear traits

I used to do Dynamis a lot as RDM, and I tended to run around with Crimson Cuisses, which gives me a hidden dragon affinity. So, guess what happened when I tried to cure DRGs with their Dragon Killer trait? lol.

Less funny was when I forget and try to cast Sleep on Demons while wearing those...

                  * * *

I've resisted Ululation (paralyze-ga) a few times while wearing Blood Ring and had Barparalyze (from WHM) on. Not very many times, but it happened.

If I can afford Torado's Ring x2, would I still use Blood Ring for Sarameya? Hmm... Probably not.

Gnole Torque has WHM suitable stats and gives the player Beast affinity. If the WHM is wearing that then they could be intimidated by a Tatami shield.

I've seen similar problems with wearing Crimson / Blood mail sets and having Dragon killer effect too.
