NM Master Thread

Hi everybody,

My intention with this post is to see if there is support for my idea out there in the community.

I know there are many sources for this information available out the at other sites and I am sure in other forums.

For me as I am sure it is for others this is one of the few sites I am able to visit while at work. As such I want to do my part to help out the community and to help enhance and inform everyone who visits and to make things concise and accurate as is possible.

I would like to know if there is enough support here to do a master list for NM here. I am thinking one that is linkable to the vital information for those NM and is accurate and up to date. I have noticed a lot of new NM in Vana'diel and I am a returning player. I really rely on information from others to make some of the decisions I make.

I know there are a lot of good sources out there for maps and spawns and spawn info but I think if we are able to compile a list and use the names and link them to all the sources of info out there for those NM that would be a very helpful tool for the community.

I am looking for support both in game and forums/ websites/blogs knowledge to help accomplish this goal if you agree that this is a project worth participating in.

Based on your corporate access policies, access to this web site ((fill in with most ffxi resource sites)) has been blocked because the web category "Games" is not allowed.

But outside of work I appreciate all the links to great sites for comprehensive information.

Unfortunately for you, You can't see wiki while at work.
Wiki has the full list more or less.
I doubt it's worth undertaking as the work has already been compiled and short of a copy and paste job and a different layout there's going to be nothing different at all, many people are stuck in their ways when it comes to ffxi,
Many would just rather use wiki as it's proven to be an established fairly accurate source if you discount the edit-fests that happen.

I wish I have time at work to mess on the internet while at work, I remember the one time I used ffxiah website before my shift began sat there with my coffee, page pops up fine, my stuff had sold "great". Then a patient goes into respiratory arrest "can I haz my coffee first plz?"

Damn helping people and bringing people back to life is good and all but I want to goof off like you guys at work lol.

well I will wait until the poll closes but so far it is 3 -1 in favor of making a thread that gives knowledge of NM's here I will of course have to do most of this at home during my play time but i may be able to work it into my easy prey /farming time on my thf. I generally play FFXI on my laptop since i can play that anywhere I go then provided I have a connection. and use my other 2 computers for information gathering.

But it's your time, so knock yourself out. Personally I'd rather do something interesting with my time, like watching paint dry which would provide hours more entertainment then what you're suggesting.

Wiki has all the information you would just be replicating here. In fact, I'd be willing to bet that that all you'd be doing is a copypasta from the wiki here.

Can't use the wiki at work, well I'm willing to bet that you can't play at work either making the inability to view game details somewhat meaningless.

Not our faults there is downtime at work and the Nazi's in our computers generally allow access to sports but anything entertainment, vidz, or job search related is taboo.

Productive? He is creating just a list (that already exists) that will simply link to the same site(s) you already can't access. You won't be able to read details about the mobs because you still can't access the information.

You can't act on the information where you currently are so having access (not that this 'idea' gives you that access) to that information where you currently are is unnecessary.

I would appreciate this as well. I'm in the same boat as a lot of people on these forums it seems with this site being the only one I can access at work when I have downtime.

Besides, there's nothing wrong with wanting the info available at work so you can plan your nightly NM hunting session or whatever during your lunch break.

Well... you don't know exactly what the OPs information will actually end up being formatted as... mayhaps he'll realize links to sites no access is granted won't be what he wants and he'll simply copy and paste. To Ass u me...

I would love a thread like that.

I have limited time to do anything in game and spending time to look things up would take away that limited time.

What I have been doing is planning to do something one day, and the next day to actually do it. This will give me more time to actually play. I can plan what/how to do something during lunch time and when I get home to actually do it.

Wasn't trying to lump ya in, sorry... I simply found your post easiest to reply to for justifying my "goofing off at work" (which by definition, it is) when others had insinuated the same in their posts but did not just say it outright. Also ... being at work I cut and paste then get called away from playtime and come back to a bunch of stuff and have totally forgotten where I was going ...sometimes.
