    I hope someone here can help me!

    Tried to get back into this game, and I would, but the problem is this:
    I CANT PLAY IT!
    Im using a windows Vista computer. I bought the ultimate collection. I downloaded the special Vista POL viewer and installed and patched it. Then I installed the games.
    After setting up my account and getting my content ID, I registered all my games. When I hit play the FFXI window opens up and just hangs there. It goes into not responding mode an I have to force quit it.

    I have tried everything here. Can anyone here please help me? Im losing my mind over this (not to mention I bought two copies of this game in the last two days, and if I cant play it Im out 40 bucks)

    All I can tell you is that this is not an issue with the game, this is an issue with Vista. I've run into this myself but with other apps and not FFXI. I reinstalled and the issue was gone.

      After re installing a total of 5 times, I don't think thats going to help anymore =(
      Im shocked this happens, and there is no fix or info on it. Im pretty much SOL on this game I guess.

        You can try contacting them to see if they can help you. I will post the Customer Service information for you. Also you could try using the tech support and email them your issue too. You contact them via POL through Service and Support. Be very detailed about what you have done installation wise, etc.

        For example, if you are trying to find out why you can not reactivate, choose Account/Billing in the first drop down. Choose Reactivation in the second drop down. Put something like "have questions about reactivating my account" in the third box and hit Next.
        Click Next on the following page. On the third page, you'll find Chat Support if you scroll down. So click the Proceed to Chat Support.


        Have your personal info, credit card info, POL info user name and password, and possibly your registration codes.

          I DID send them an email a few hours ago, I guess we will see what they say. I may try to call them tomorrow as well.

                  I am using the default windowing method, no 3rd party stuff at all.
                  I have a Toshiba Satellite L355D Laptop
                  AMD Turion(tm) X2 Dual-Core Mobile RM-72 2.10 GHz
                  3 GB RAM
                  32-bit OS

                    Have you by any chance tried without the windowing? (go straight to full screen)

                          You don't need to download the vista pol if you have the Ultimate collection.
                          I use a Mac because I'm just better than you are.
