A couple questions from a wiki-less soul pain in the butt.

I know wiki would be an ideal place to look for this. Unfortunatly I don't have access, this site is not blocked by websense.

I have a few items and am wondering if they are easy quest items to just turn them in to an npc. I would like them out of my inventory. If anyone knows which NPC to give them to please let me know.

Samwell's Shank.

Rampaging Horn.

Yagudo Caulk.

Magicked Steel.

Red Oven Mitts.

Also, is there an NPC that sells KOMA? I thought about treking it to NORG, but am not sure if it would be a wasted trip or not.
Sorry to be a pain in the ass, but without wiki or something similar, I am just sitting on these and taking up valuable space!

Samwell's Shank : - Used to craft mettle leggings.
Rampaging Horn:- Used in quest silence of the rams. talk to Paujean in Port Bastok (F-6) you need the Lumbering horrn also the reward is the purple belt.
Yagudo Caulk :- is used in A Moogle Kupo d'Etat Expansion
Magicked Steel : used in quest Tuning in. you also need Extra-fine file and spruce lumber the reward is only 4k gil.
Red Oven Mitts. Used in quest Too many chefs from wings of the goddess. Reward is Aileen's Delight which is a food that produces the following effects.


Food Effects: (60 minutes, All Races) Hp + 51
Mp + 51
Strength +4
Dex +4
Vit +4
Agi +4
Int +4
Mnd +4
Chr +4
Mp while healing +4

Koma is sold by

Almasandra in lower Jeuno and Dabih Jajalioh in Ru'lude gardens. Price: ~ 165 - 210 gil
It can also appear on the Ah unlikely though on my server it last appeared in 2007.

I almost forgot, the reason I need KOMA is it is a recipe for Meifu Goma. What is this, and where do I find it in the Ah?

Well Meifu Gpma is a firework.
It is found in the Alchemy materials section in the Auction house.
On my server they sell in stacks for 30k but none have been sold since june 2009.
They sell to an NPC for a maximum of 37 gil.

The recipe taken from wiki is as follows.

Ok, I got another one. I am wondering the best drop rate for crab shells, if I can farm them with a decent drop rate and low level. Where would be the best place? I have checked Sandy's AH recently and there has not been much on there lately. Plus, I don't mind farming. I have a level 70 THF with thiefs knife, and was snagging them pretty good in Kuftal while I was skilling up marksmanship, but it seems my marksmanship has skilled up as much as it can in there.(197) So I figure there is no point in wasting time there if I can go elsewere and pick them off a lot quicker.

The only ones that pop into mind are snippers and clippers in valkurm dunes and qufim island where they appear in a volume to be farmed. if you need lower level than that. Theres the place just before dangruf wadi where quite a few roam plus a few bees in there for good measure.

I wouldnt really know where would be good for you considering how high your thf is already I dont tend to farm far from home.

Might consider the leech-beaches out in Bubu... get some NPCable blood while waiting re-pops. Pretty sure theres crabs on them beaches.

Just a quick note that the crabs on these beaches are very stingy. I killed them on the one beach, close to Mhaura, then went East to the far east beach and with no one else around killing them, I collected one crab shell out of the dozen or so crabs that were there. After, as I was a little frustrated, I killed some Dhalmels for their hides awaiting a re-pop to see if maybe I could grab another. (Seemed they were in the mood to be stingier than usual as well) I popped into the town to quickly send the staff that had dropped from a nm crab (Wandering Wanda) to my jeuno mule. I went back out to the beaches, and I aquired the staff again (i'ts rare so I just NPC'd it for a quick grand and a half, rather than mess around hoping to sell it on AH yada yada.) In any case, I killed the crabs again and this time I didn't receive one crab shell in killing the same 12 crabs. Long story short, IMO not worth farming the stupid things, I just bought them off AH as they became availiable. Seem to be a fast seller the past week or so, but I am done with them for now, as I got my level in Leathercrafting.

It's Nazi's in your computer. It's a program for employers to monitor and block the sites a employee using their computers wants to get to. I can't access most entertainment/vidgames websites... yet sports (bleh) is totally okidokey... it's a way for mild discrimination of nerds to remain in the workplace.

I can not access some pizza websites when I want to order Za. It is kind of counter-active since those days I would order pizza in, I end up having to just go out for lunch instead. It's the for sure. I can see some good (at least from a employers prospective) in blocking facebook style sites. but pizza menu? websense needs to give its head a shake there.

Totally. Websense is the lame. If I head over the metacritic, I can access every section EXCEPT the game reviews. Sports, music, facebook, twitter, are not off limits, but metacritic games IS. Really bizarre. I'm glad this site in safe from the websense nazis.

Yeah I understand when it comes to social networking and porn sites. But yeah... it really rubs me the wrong way that anything sports is available but anything vidgame or entertainment (music, theater, movie) is not proper for work.

I had a buddy in IT dept give me (and maybe everyone else) access to N4G as a Xmas present... I kinda regret that choice. Buncha whiny people on that site. BG seems to be okay for Websense but I don't like their format and haven't ever gotten into their community.

i do appreciate the suggestion, I just thought I would note that in case anyone out there wants to farm crab shells as well. I think I am just gonna have to bite the bullet and hurry up and buy a laptop. It is on the procrastion list. lol, a list which I will write up later.
