Saving Macros

Is there anyway to backup or save my macros before I uninstall and reinstall?

if its on a computer just go into your playonline folder/final fantasy folder and inside the ff folder theres a folder called "user" copy that to a jump drive or so on.. then after reboot replace the folder with your copy and your macros will be there..

or

shift + ctrl + alt + b = saves macros to se servers

shift + ctrl + alt + r = to load them..

you do this at the character selection screen with character whos macros your wanting to save so got more than one would have to do each.. before you log before your reinstall goto your character selection screen hit the four buttons.. then after reinstall and ya put in info and all that at your selection screen pick character and hit load to get em back..

You can find the folder with your macros on it in your computer and save it to an external drive. I used this to transfer my macros between computers.

Go to C:/Program Files/PlayOnline/SquareEnix/FINAL FANTASY XI/USER

In the USER folder, there will be a bunch of other folders. One for each character you've ever played on your computer. (For me, that's like 20 folders since I've played a bunch of friends' characters as well as all my mules.) If you don't know which folder is your character, copy all of them to your other drive so you can copy them all back.

These folders also contain you settings, like your chat filters/colors, and a few other things, so that's another good reason to locate and copy them. If you do find which one it is, don't rename it after your character because I don't think the game will recognize it.
