Fun fact: It actually has a name. It's called "Cascade Edellaine".

I can't stand any part of The Crawlers' Nest. Spent waaaaaaaay too many hours levelling in that place.

I always thought Crawler's Nest was a hoot cuz o' all the scrotal-like things all over the place. I level'd there very few times. But when I did, it was pretty decent xp... also, it was the first time I'd seen a "false wall" and then wondered how many I'd not known about and passed.

I don't like how Promyvion looks at all. It's cool, but it's not supposed to look good, per se.

I really liked how different it was when I got there... it was unexpected. It was back when everything was still surprising me alot cuz I hadn't viewed many areas yet. It was just soooo different... but yeah.. not a very pretty place unless you're all goth and like sorta a nightmare version of Dr. Seuss.

Al'taieu is nice up until about the first time a giant jellyfish lands on your hand and hits you for 400 damage.

One o' them Jellyfish got me in the first 2 min of my first look at Al'taieu... I was the sacrifice for my static on that one. Funny part was it aggro'd right as someone thought to warn everyone about them. Still need some of their organs.

Hall of the Gods. Mentioned earlier in this thread. Pretty sure the walkway at the top of the Hall is the only spot with the odd rainbow footsteps unless my memory fails me.

<------ disappointed... I really liked that effect but I can see how it could bog down with too many people if it was everywhere.

The central room inside Dragon's Aery (where Fafnir/Nidhogg spawns) with all the Darters.

Yes, this is quite nice, but only when there isn't two million people there waiting for the pop. When it's just the Aery and the Darters, it's great.

I hear a lot of people say it's creepy, but inside the crags - Promyvion - is an absolutely spectaular area. If I'm not out killing things, I'm usually in there. There's a number of places in La Theine, as well, that have a wonderful view, such as in the crags and cracks.

And you can't forget some of the places in Carpenter's Landing, which you should have no problem accessing. The Manaclipper through there is a sight, as well.

Beaucedine, and Qufim, with teh right weather, can be stunning as well.

All in all, just wander. There's beauty all over the place if you take your time and look. Butterflies in Windurst, Grasshoppers in Knschtat, and the eagles that catch fish in Carpenter's.

Oh, and you can't forget the rainbow pool in Jugner.

I found a sight at one point that helped me find a few very pretty places.
One thing i've learned when looking at pretty places in ffxi is crank up your graphics.
But if you google The Beauty of Vanadiel you'll find a nice site..
