mmmmm... I still can't decide who to give my pants to, my DRG, or my PLD, my DNC is set with the way I want it.... my DRG just had Dusk legs stapled to its ass, because I augmented it -.- (got +5 dark lol) and I was going to let my PLD use Relic legs.

The more I look at the augments though, I think I might give them to my DRG, and swap in Dusk for WSing, because my DRG already fulltime the Helm and body anyway, so why not the legs too ;p

I'm being generous to myself and gonna probably take two months two wrap up my affairs in FFXI. I'm doing this because I know Phantasy Star Zero is going to sidetrack me a little. That and I want the campaign body piece for Kitten and I really fell behind on that.

MAB, Cure potency, and movement speed are all viable for SCH, I'd it Cure III cap with or without the +15 skill from AF pants, so that means Cure potency would be of value. Movement speed + MAB is good for nuking solo or in manaburn.

Begs the question, though, would this stack with Desert Boots? I can never remember.

Ok here's a question: Is there any mob that you can't outrun with 8% movement speed but can with 12%? That is, do we know of any mobs that can tie or almost tie with your speed when wearing Crimson Cuisses?

For that matter, can you even outrun the popular fast-moving mobs like Wyverns and Tigers and Raptors and Manticores with Crimson Cuisses? They seem to run a lot faster than +12% but what do I know, I'm just eyeballing that. Or are they mainly used for kiting stuff with normal movement speeds?

This. Does +movement speed stack? I got hermes sandals for my COR for pulling during bird merit pt's help's A TON! Will the +8% movement speed pants stack with the +12% movement speed boots to get +20% movement speed? That would make pulling SIC. Peacemaker + snapshot ACP body + (+20% movement speed) + adding the -5 QD ability... SIC

Various mobs do have enhanced movement speeds. Phuabos in Sea have perma flee, so you'd never be able to outrun them even with movement speed. Yovra I have outrun with Desert Boots activated to the point they deaggroed.

Also, as a ranger, I have noticed that sweet spots can vary by the size of a mob. Usually this isn't the case, but it seems to be for things like wyverns and manticores. It could be more to the end that due to their size they have a wider reach than a more standard-sized mobs and that's why they feel like they're faster.

Tigers and birds are a bit fast by nature. Birds don't seem to have the same pathfinding issues mobs on-foot have, but I do think they have some extra speed as well. Tigers most certainly have extra movement speed. I've never pulled one without /NIN that didn't eventually tag me a few times before getting to the tank's voke range. Even with /NIN they have a good chance of dropping my shadows.

Tigers/raptors are for sure 12%+. I have a hard time out running them with Hermes Sandals.

I have some friends that say it does not stack...but i've not seen that stated anywhere so i'm not convinced just yet.

Though Hermes are 4% more speed, i may look into selling them and using my AF+1 feet for pup. I'm going the 'Pet' route with these pants (as I did with the other pieces) and the Pet: Store TP/Subtle blow along with Movement speeds seems like the best option that satisfies both my Bst and Pup. I don’t want to be too bias to one job so i'm avoiding -sic and 10% repair.

Out running normal speed is more than enough for me, especially when kiting with Bst. Charm/Bind is an amazing thing ^^

Seems like if you only get 8% for running speed off the legs, it's potentially not going to do you much good against mobs that run faster than that, like colibri, except to maybe buy you a few seconds between a long pull. That could be somehwat helpful however.

I'd want the 8% for PLD legs, but I think Kirin runs much faster than this. I guess he runs same speed as colibri and tigers, tho it seems maybe faster. Not sure. I want to be able to kite him eventually, so I guess I'll have to stick to w.legs for that.

The 8% would be perfect for normal speed mobs though. Maybe mamool ja tp-burns.. or nyzul/sky.

I doubt its going to stack unless SE makes this piece different somehow.

Wiki shows tigers having +50% movement speed (although I generally take whatever wiki says about mobs with a grain of salt.) Do you tie with a tiger's speed or do they catch up to you?
Usually this isn't the case, but it seems to be for things like wyverns and manticores. It could be more to the end that due to their size they have a wider reach than a more standard-sized mobs and that's why they feel like they're faster.
They're definitely faster. Without movement buffs, it doesn't matter how far you pull them from, they'll always catch up. If the mob has the same speed as you, it'll never catch up so long as you continue to run in a straight line.

Basically I'm trying to see if there's anything that can be done with +12% movement speed that can't be done with 8%. If everything that runs faster runs faster than 12%, then having 8% is just as good for the purposes of outrunning things; it'll just take you longer to put distance between you and the mob, but you'll still outrun it. If there's a mob with exactly +12% movement speed then Crimson is still better.

guess i can test this out today with Pup/bst.
the raptors 'keep up' with me. so i'm not sure if they are actually faster. 50% seems hight but...might be right. Tiger jugs are fast when kiting.

It's doubtful the movement speed will stack. It seems they deliberately don't want to destroy the market on items like W Legs and other 12% movement speed items. This, imo, would just be an alternative to getting those since they aren't the easiest to get. If they DID stack, it would make Gaiters even more valuable, and also make W Legs pretty much close to worthless. I've read arguments of people claiming they will stack since it's different movement speed %, but frankly it won't be known until the patch hits.

Other than the highly situational Desert Boots and limited charge Sprinter's Shoes this would be the only option for bards from what I can see.
