  • Alliance Help Please

Ok i wanted to know about alliance... what are they used for... and more importantly how is the EXP gimped...

Here is my issue i had a good team (my party kicks a$$) and Our PLD/WAR had his wife start playing again and she is a great WHM (played before Lv 45 same as the rest of us)

my thing is this now makes my party 7players...
we have not all been on at the same time yet but we will be...

How will this mess up our EXP... we already try to fight IT

If someone could exsplaine alliance (or point me in the right direction) to me i would think you are awesome lol

    Thank you

    Re: Alliance Help Please

Alliances are mostly for quests, missions, and killing NMs/HNMs.

The EXP you'd get for soloing the mob the party kills is multiplied by 0.35 for a 6 man party and that's the EXP each player gets without any EXP chains or rings. For an alliance, the multiplier is 1.8/(Number of players). In this case it'd be 1.8/7 = ~0.25 which is almost 30% less than 0.35. So you'd need to kill faster and do longer EXP chains to compensate.

P.S. For a 6 man party it's best to kill VTs and the lowest ITs than high level ITs.

Experience Points - FFXIclopedia, the Final Fantasy XI wiki - Characters, items, jobs, and more Look for the table with the pretty colors. That tells you the EXP the mob gives before getting multiplied by whatever number corresponds to your party/alliance size. You can look up the level of the mobs in that same site to tell if you're doing it wrong.

You should never check with the lowest level person. You check with the highest; the EXP is based on the highest person, and the majority of the party should be close in level to the highest person, not the other way around (otherwise you're hurting your EXP and performance really badly.) You want the mobs to start out at VT or the lowest level of IT (if you're expecting a level-up early on). The higher level the mob is, the more your party sucks against. It's just that Ts give too little EXP for a normal 6 man party, so the next best thing is VTs and the lowest ITs.

          man thank you that help:
I should of been more clear we have the lowest guy check only cause we all level sync to him... i am 45blm so i would have a my level 25PLD friend check and if the mob is IT we sync down to his level (25) that makes all 6 of lv25... I LOVE LEVEL SYNC...

would you knwo if an alliance could level sync like a party can ???
