    Welcome to my hell, TM.

Hexx, thing is while it may someone's first time to invite someone when the invitee's flag isnt up, for a job like a Bard, its probably the 10th time that night. No, the person who just randomly invited someone (which I never liked to begin with, particularly if its a high demand job, give them a heads up and let them know the situation with the party) probably doesn't deserve horribly rude treatment, but we're all human, and if I was getting many blind invites a night because people dont read seacoms or just don't care, I'd be a little on edge by the end of the night and snapping gets a lot more likely.

I think Summoner job could use a boost around early levels (10-50)especially. their avatars suck so much compared to drg wyverns. :p

I wonder if new avatars are coming at all this year? and how many?

Well see, jobs like BRD, COR, and RDM I understand, and hence why I tend to not ask if I dont see them seeking or I dont see a seacom up, so I understand where you are coming from. Personally, I get annoyed when i have a seacom up that says {Level Sync} 55+ {Yes, please} and I get a pt invite for a stupid qufim party, which in turn gets a "{seacom} {Please check it.} {Thank you}" response. Im just tryin to point out that it aint always THAT bad to ask someone with no flag up to a PT.

I don't think (politely) asking someone without their flag up to party is a bad thing at all.

          That being said, my luck with said invites is probably 99% "/facepalm What was I thinking?" and 1% "Hey, this party is pretty good." So I might not be the best example to mention if you want to get support for the practice. <_<;

By the way another thing that would make me happy:

That SE changed the way Kupowers are displayed on screen.

Like making it only take 1 line of text instead of 3 or only telling you about the active Kupowers on the system msg you get when you log and then just add a status Moogle icon (BC style) while in areas affected by kupowers.

It's a small change but it would be welcomed, kupo.

No, no, no PLEASE NO! That's what makes FFXI better than almost any other MMO... there is an actual death penalty. If you die, you lose xp and can delevel. Changing this would break the game for me =\

Re: Now Square-Enix wants customers to be happy. how will FFXI make us happy now?

Because dying from mobs who can hit you with melee weapons from a range you couldn't dream of with your own and killing you is always exciting and makes the game more 'challenging'. lolololk. There is an 'actual death penalty' in many games. Just because it doesn't make you have to go solo in tedium for over an hour, or regroup doesn't mean it isn't there and isn't a deterrent.

I don't know about you, but when I saw my repair bill after our debacle attempt at Vol. 2, Book 5, Chapter 5 in LotRO, I nearly cried myself to sleep. And I'm a medium armor class. My boyfriend who plays a champ? Nearly 1G. The tank? I was afraid to ask. Not everyone is rich enough to shrug that off, and even those who are, it'd be money much better applied to high-end gear or crafting. Most people consider the repairs a sufficient deterrent to simply 'zerging' on LotRO. We do just fine being 'deterred' from idiocy without exp loss.

That said, with Level Sync and FoV, it isn't really that bad, more of an annoyance than anything, so I'm really not seeing your point. If this is the only thing that sets XI apart for you, and makes it enjoyable, then I'd have to question your method of determining 'fun'.

Yeah, it's all a matter of personal opinion.

In my case I much rather have xp penalaty than decay/repair fees... but maybe that's only because I'm always broke.

Either way I like the system the way it is right now.

Edit > Wait I'm supposed to say something I don't like too (gotta please my fans) so...

SE should change WotG quest battlefields so you didn't lose xp on them. I try to solo them a lot so that means I have to do a Campaign or two to get xp back after my kamikaze attemps.

Re: Now Square-Enix wants customers to be happy. how will FFXI make us happy now?

Really other than fixing SMN I would just like SE to admit that so much of what they put into the game just shits all over their own disclaimer. It would be nice if the work vs reward rations were much friendlier.

That doesn't mean I want everything handed to me, where would the fun be in that? But I do think that certain things like Relic, Black Belt and especially Mythics ought to be a bit easier to come by or reflect the effort put into getting them. Undoing that DW nerf on relics and mythics would be nice too for the people who can do that. I mean, why would you stick it to someone who's clearly a very devoted player to begin with? It's not like having a Mandau and Vajra or Merglais and Excal/Mandau will suddenly allow someone to solo the entire game or even the really really hard stuff.

Is there honestly that big of a need to make so many items in the game so unreasonably hard to obtain? Ridill isn't even that good if you analyze it close enough. In fact the only truly broken weapon in the game is the Kraken Club and only in the hands of a well buffed DRK. Furthermore, SE has taken steps to nerf it against certain enemies (AV, ACP final boss)

Why should 1 person get an Ochuido's Kote their first kill while another doesn't get one in over 20+ claims of Mee Deggi? There are so few pieces of equipment in the game that are truly powerful enough to merit limiting that it just seems asinine to make so many NM and BCNM drops rare in a cheap attempt to keep people playing.

And therein lies my supreme beef with the game. I love and enjoy the game itself, I just hate how SE has managed certain aspects of it. Despite all its flaws, I still find it's the best MMO on the market.

This, god this. And Ballista. When I get huge messages like that upon zoning every time, it lags me. I can't move until the message is done loading on my screen. It is manageable with the kupopowers thing, but has always been a problem with Ballista spam - which, by the way, is something I do not give a blue bloody fuck about.

Give me the option to filter this shit SE.

God, I agree too. System messages can stay the same, but I don't need to know about that grey shit.

I think a good improvement (I think they were thinking about it at one time?) would be to make a hairdresser npc for those of us tired of our character model but don't really want to use a .dat or have the ability to use one since their not on pc with the game. I'd say being able to change your race would be a bit too extreme since the stats are different for each one, but just changing your face/hair should be ok.

EQ2 had something like that. Basically allowed you access to the character creation screen post race/gender selection.

In WoW it's the barbershop. Sit down and decide how you want your hair/features to look, and pay your gold based on what you have done. Really not a bad idea.

I think it would be cool, just like make a fee or something and can only do it every so often like some of those other MMOs.
