    Not quite. You want to at least carry around a high-base damage GK (onimaru, shinsoku) for anything you really don't want to feed TP, and for HNM's, if you're into that.

      I think he meant for EXP situations and possibly small things like Dyna or Assault, not just in general. Damn it now I have to wonder if that FL assault run I lost (the 1 against the Dverger, forget the name...) would have gone better if the 4 SAM we had all chained their WS together rather than mindlessly spamming it.

      They were pretty scared of him going nuts with this TP Moves/Magic so I can understand the need to zerg but it still seems like they could have had a perpetual chain going (well, continual light chains anyway since no 1 had amano) dealing tonnes of extra damage.

      @.@ just what I didn't need, another reason to quest Amano (unless a certain job I ever gets released @ which point I will drop SAM like a bad habbit lol)

          Vidohunir is surprisingly good - it's Dark elemental based, has an INT modifier and is affected by Magic Attack Bonus+ equip. On top of that, it has quite high accuracy as well and it not likely to get resisted. I've done about 600-700 damage using in on my BLM which is substantially higher than any other staff WSs for BLM. The only problem is that you never, ever TP on BLM, even when soloing ...

          Mystic Boon is a blessing for WHM since it removes the need to carry Staves and you can keep your Club equipped when you want to get MP back. The damage seems to be a bit random with the only effective modifier being Attack - STR and MND do nothing it seems.

          Garland of Bliss looks awesome and it's surprisingly useful for SMN. Again it's an elemental WS, this time light based, so if you have Carbuncle out and have your Light Staff equipped you will get a 10% bonus. Damage is average but better than most other Staff WSs.

            With what weapon, Pluto Staff? Also, the more TP you have the more Vidohunir lowers the target's magic defense, setting it up for nukes (great fun in Campaign Battle I'd imagine) too bad it's so horribly impractical in just about every end game scenario - _ -'

            EDIT: You must have been eyeballing mystic boon;

            Mystic Boon - FFXIclopedia - a Wikia Gaming wiki

            • Damage Multipliers by TP:

            100%TP 200%TP 300%TP 1.0 1.5 2.0

            Every WS has secondary modifiers. The stub denotes that attack factors in heavily, but since it's flagged there's no real confirmation yet.

              That's only because you're not predisposed to think that secondary modifiers are the shit and adding 5 MND is going to up your damage by 50-100 points.

              In reality you will never be able to see the difference in damage with your own two eyes. The boost is too small, the damage variance too wide and humans are too selective in what they want to remember.
              Every WS has secondary modifiers.
              Most, not all. Wasp Sting doesn't, neither does Viper Bite.

                Hey how about that they don't...

                EDIT: Okay, got Tachi: Rana at last ^ - ^ (Working on Mordant Rhyme atm alongside Primal Rend and King's Justice) and I believe the order goes (correct me if I'm wrong here)

                200% TP > Sekkanoki > Yukikaze > Gekko (Fragmentation) > Meikyo Shisui > Gekko (Distortion) > Meditate > Kasha (Fusion) > Rana (Gravitation) > Gekko (Darkness)
