This is probably a shot in the dark but I thought I'd ask it anyway.
When I originally got my laptop it was to be used as a portable programming station. The thought of putting FFXI on the laptop never even crossed my mind until a few days ago. I have been spending an awful amount of time camping Stubborn Dredvodd for the ring he carries. Well, after about the 40th (yes, 40th) trip I decided that since most of my time now is spent on that barge I could easily put it onto the laptop and camp him using that, freeing up the resources on my desktop to do other things.
So I install and patch. Two hours later I boot it up and this is what I'm greeted with once I log into my mule:
Yeah. Trippy!
To be honest I am completely shocked the laptop can run the game at all. Even if no one has a solution to the texture problem I'll be happy that I can at least camp the NM with horrible textures (better than not being able to at all). However, if there IS a fix to this, I would love to have it look at least PS2ish, if not better.
The laptop:
Studio Laptop 1735
3GB of RAM
Intel Mobile Core 2 Duo (2Ghz)
Mobile Intel 965 Express Chipset Family for the video, 358MB
I know the video is what's killing it. Heck, like I said, I'm shocked it even runs FFXI at all. But if anyone knows of a way to fix it, I'd be grateful to hear it.
