hello,

Just hit 70pld/35war and am preparing for maat

I am in need of some gil to prep for it and have never really farmed before,

so I was wondering where i could solo farm and make some decent money?

Kill bees and crawlers in Rolanberry Fields. Bees drop honey and chips fairly often that can sell ok, and crawlers drop silk threads that sell well.

Prolly no　one　does　it　anymore,　but　you　can　 invest　some　money　on　a　set　of　gathering　skill　armor and gather materials. You can make some pretty money like that.

You can always fish. This guide is about 4 years old but is still probably the best one there is for fishing.

Fishing doesn't sound like a big money maker at first but I can quite easily pull in 70-200k a trip depending on the AH prices and how much time/patience/spare lures because line breaks happen to me a lot due to lag/gil I currently have. My fishing skill is also only something like 24. I have a number of high level fishing skill friends who all have no problem with gear.

Honestly now I'd rather take a day to fish to my limit and DB the fish I can't sell until a later date than spend 6 hours trying to get something like Beastman Blood or Silk Threads to drop only to find that in the time it took me to get 2 stacks of Beastman Blood I could have fished up enough stacks of fish to fill my AH slots. Even if they don't sell I have cooking levelled so I can check to see if it's worth turning my fish into food, I can always bazzar them by the Windy fishing guild or sell them to LS members if the fish is the Guild Point item (You'd be surprised at how much gil this one can make you since it's a guaranteed sale if you're like me and offer LS discounts on items you sell to your LS).

The post by TGM gives one of the best farming guides I have found. I'm thinkin I'd like to try that Delkfutt's strategy one of these days.

Right now though... even with the gimping of NPC prices... I'm slaughtering Gaylas Bats for blood drops and during the day killing kitty couerls for meat, hides, and whiskas. Since the gimping... the blood is worth half but there seems to be absolutely no competition anymore so I'm able to claim more mob.
