Sorry, the definition of griefing is : Intentionally causing discomfort to other players...
How was I griefing? It was not intentional.
It WAS INTENTIONAL. They asked you to stop, you said ok, THEN WENT BACK TO DOING IT once you got kicked. If that is not intentional, then...god there aren't words to describe this feeling.

Reason: Avoiding double post
Did you agree to stop mass killing mobs while on your high level job because an exp party was in the area using the same mobs for exp? Yes.
After you were kicked from the party, did you go back and get on your high level job and go back to the same area where the exp party was and start mass killing their mobs after agreeing not to do so previously? Yes
THAT is the very definition griefing.

When they say All You Can Eat, it means ALL YOU CAN EAT, ALL THE TIME! /colbertoff

Ok, I will talk like you. I WENT BACK AFTER A LONG PERIOD OF TIME. WHEN I STARTED KILLING THINGS AGAIN FOR THE QUEST, THEY NEVER EVEN ASKED ME TO STOP. A minimum of 50 minutes past before I started kill again. If I was upset I would of warped back to HP, switched jobs, and started killing them instantly.

If going back after an entire hour had past is called griefing in your eyes, get contacts!
So after an hour they totally disappeared and left right, cause that changes everything1 Oh wait, no they didn't. They were still there, which means the request still applies as they were still partying. But hey, back to the speeding example. Just cause I got a ticket/warning yesterday for speeding, doesn't mean I can get one an hour later! They already gave me a warning! That is your logic, which is flawed.
Guren, I feel for you man, I do. Unfortunatley if you came back 3 hours later, and the same Exp party was still leveling there then you had no grounds to start killing their Exp.
What quest were you doing that required you to kill all of their exp mobs? If you were trying to get a coffer key, why didn't you just go kill some other mob that drops it?
here's a fun example of how this might happen in real life.
You get a divorce.
Your ex-wife says don't call me on the phone anymore unless it's some request for legal information pertaining to the divorce.
You agree
A month goes by or 12 months or 24 months, and you call and ask her how she's doing, what's she been up too, etc.
You have waited a minimum of 50 minutes and definetly over an hour, but you have still caused her grief by doing something that you said you wouldn't.
::note:: The aformentioned is somewhat of an extreme case, but you have to look at it in a more broad sense, take a step out of the situation, and turn around and look back into/at it.
And above all those things, SE has basicaly said they have a minimum of zero tolerance, and well above no tolerance for anything even remotley questionable these days. I mean it takes people 6 months to get their account's back when legitmetly the only thing they did wrong was be unlucky and get their accounts hacked.
It sucks, cause that's one less PUP that I might have partied with at some point.
And don't be mad @Grandmom, I mean there's clearly more to this than your getting at. Your OP was about "some other person" and only after no sympathy was found to be had, did it "seem" like you got offended and suddenly declared that it was you who had actually written the post, and gotten band.
I thought it was common knowledge that if there is a party in the area or even people soloing you don't go around killing all the mobs to be considerate and keep yourself out of situations like this. You don't need to wait until they ask you to stop you just don't do it in the first place.
Also, what would you have acheived by doing this? Getting the item faster. You could have killed the mobs at a slower rate, sure that would slow down at what point you got your items but it would have saved all this bother.
I can understand your point, you stopped when they asked, thought you would party but that didn't work out so you went back to doing what you were doing before. But I don't see why you thought it was suddenly ok to resume killing all the mobs.
I can understand how that would have looked to the party: "We didn't let them party so they're killing all our mobs, let's make a GM call."
I can understand from the GM's point of view too, he gets a call: party is annoyed that some guy is killing all their exp mobs. He looks up that they asked him to stop and awhile later he carried on doing it anyway= jerk player.
You shouldn't have carried on under the assumption that suddenly they would change their minds that they didn't want their exp mobs. They should haven't jumped to the conclusion it was a revenge tactic and the GM should have read the whole log.
EDIT:
Btw, not sure if you did this but did you take any screenshots of your log? If you did then you might be able to use this as proof to argue your point and get your account back.
I dont think what he did was griefing. almost an hour went by and he started up killing mobs again.
I did the excact same thing when i was farming chests in dunes. i would pull 50 mobs on my bst and then kill them off one at a time with my pet.
I had players inspect me and /emote slap me but none ever complained. I never did anything to intentionally piss anyone off and i was mostly grabbing leeches since they are rarely killed. Yet i had players unhappy with what i was doing because i was hurting there bandwith pfftt fuckoff
Its an MMO. and with all MMO's sometimes you have to deal with high players doing shit that the low level players cant do.ive seen this on, Vangaurd , Wow, SWG, Conan, LOTRO, and now ive seen it here
I just cant believe that someone can get perma banned for killing mobs. I mean , if that holds true , then shouldnt you be able to call a GM on someone who is camping the same NM you are cuz they are disrupting your gaming experience??? Even after you asked them to leave ROFLCOPTER
